EDIT
I bought a VDO
thanks for the help.
you’ll find several different looks for the specifications you need…
i went with the autometer phantom series, 52mm, reads up to 30 psi of boost and vacuum
^^^^^screw autometer—never accurate. just spend the money and get defi. the d-guage series are the most economial and the work 87128768714810x better than autometer.
Yeah but they also seem to be ~100 dollars.
This projects on a budget
i’ve never had a problem with mine reading wrong… :gotme:
You ever hook another one up to compare it to?
The day I bought my autometer I put it in my audi and it was .75 PSI off.
Oh well
yea they don’t read perfect, i just figure its 1psi off and keep that in mind, no biggy
Greddy Peak hold.
:word:
that or the Defi’s.
Look at it this way… you know the autometers arent all that accurate.
And then see if you can picture yourself saying… “Eh well it doesnt really matter to me if im running 2lbs higher boost than I intend”
2lbs could be the difference between fast and boom. I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself =)
On a stock turbo system where the ECU regulates his boost and not his manual boost controller, who cares.
He specifically isn’t going to spend 100+ on a boost gauge, he said that…so there. The VDO I linked you to is fine, I don’t know if it comes in the size you want it to though.
I agree, I haven’t had any experiences with Autometer gauges, but when I posted about which gauges to get … I was told Defi’s or Greddy FTW. I like how how the Carbon Fiber Autometer gauges look … I’ll most likely shy away from the Autometers though. GL trying to decide on which gauges to get
It’s one thing if you’re rocking a GT35R and 1-2 psi on a 4cyl is going to put a rod through the block, but it’s for a stock turbo car…
And what happens when he decides to modify this stock car? Buy new gauges again? Do it right the first time, so you don’t have to do it twice. Half-assing it will get you nowhere fast.
ECU controlled for the second time.
as long as its ecu controlled ur just gonna wanna make sure ur holding boost or not spiking, i dont think that +/-1 psi is gonna affect that reading.
bottom line …1st post never said quality of guage or even the application intended. therefor well…u get the idea
Are you illiterate? Go read my post again.
agreed, cheaper the better for him
Now I see why cars constantly blow up  . How can cheaper be better? How can you monitor spiking (or anything for that matter) properly without accurate data?
