Because it keeps the spam down. I was sick and tiered of 20 new user accounts everyday. By adding this little button it removes all the fake user & Bot accounts. Is it such and inconvenience?

I am not sure why, its got a cool industrial look to it, But GTA is the frist thing that comes to mind. I think it might have something to do with the buttons under the logo and the use of the yellows.
