After a long time coming I have finally purchased a larger oven so I am able to do things such as motorcycle frames, quads, etc. The new oven is 4x4x6 so if your stuff fits in those dimensions then you bet your ass I can do it for you
I will also be offering media tumbling services to clean up rusted, dirty old bolts that tarnish your clean bays! Instead of purchasing stainless bolts that aren’t the same grade, length, and trying to figure out each one of them just have them tumbled to look new again! Here’s a quick before/after of caliper bolts (I’ll post more as I get them done and installed)
Kawasaki 636 project in for coating:
Tyler Wolf’s EVO parts ready for the season:
Joe’s EVO X taking a turn towards down right sexy!
John’s STI is getting a major change this year:
John’s EVO 8 getting some color with the valve cover shaved to match:
It is a rust cutting media, I’m going to test out some of the other medias but I just needed something to clean up all of the nasty bolts on my subframe so this media will work good for now.
Sounds great Mike! Just shoot me an email whenever you’re ready.
Here’s a few more bolts cleaned up (the nut was only there to hold the bolt upright but that’s how nasty the bolts were)
Looks really good, your candies are coming out really nice, so even. Are you going over polished aluminum or doing a chrome base coat and then going over it while its still hot?
The candies are over a chrome powder base. I wish they could be shot over chrome plating but most people don’t want to pay to have someone plate or polish it first and then coated. There’s definitely a big difference between them. I do have some chrome plated lugs I just shot shocker yellow over and his calipers and gas door over chrome powder so i’ll post up side by sides of them once I get the calipers assembled. The topcoats are shot cold most of the time but sometimes I do shoot them hot as soon as the chrome flows out that way the bond between them is stronger than a full cure of the chrome.
we did metal studs, 4" of mineral wool, digital controller, 4-3k watt broiler elements. 3’ deep, 5.5’ wide, 6.5’ tall. Teds stuff is pretty cool, catch it used local?
I built the one I have now basically the same way but with a steel frame inside of it all for some added support in case I had heavy stuff. Im getting it from Maryland but he’s meeting me at the border so only 6 hours roundtrip so not too bad. Only thing I don’t like about it is that its not a flat floor but i’ll either build a ramp for it or chop the bottom out.
Unfortunately these are plastic. The chrome was already there so I’m not sure what they used, likely just a copper core plastic that was plated. All I did was mask it all off and shoot red cerakote on the symbols. There really isn’t a chrome type powder, the closest you can get to chrome plating, is chrome plating. Chrome powder is basically a bright silver, not really a chrome at all.
