 to intercooler overkill! that thing’s huge.
fixed
Ok, decided to do a test fit to see if my current manifold would locate the turbo in a suitable location
OH crap its not gonna fit
yea crap hrm
well without any fans it fits fine
Yep plenty of room without fans… how i just gotta fiure out how to route the dump tube
Will i be able to put some fans on the other side of the ac condensor? and have them push air through instead of pull?
thats the only way this thing is gonna clear…
i used a puser on my 240. take the stupid AC off.
I probably will take the AC condensor off… i dont haev the compressor on the car now anyways… im not worried about buffalo weather… its just that im moving to FLA @ the end of the year
Then you need to be concerned with heat soak and want max flow through the engine bay! lol. my fans worked OK on the the front, i think i remember reading they are about 70% as efficient as pullers.
Yeah, pushers are about 15% less efficient than pullers. More or less you are blocking flow to the radiator with the fans. Maybe you could get fans that flow 15% more CFM??:gotme:
Are those stock fans? If not, what size are they?
If all else fails, you can sell me that GT35R. It’ll work perfect on my 2.9L.
 i want a ride when that is finished!
the fans i have are FAL fans… they are like 2200 CFM
That should flow enough. Mount them bitches on the front.
Enjoy the extra lag on a 4" thick core… :eekdance:
id hate to quote toda
but
lag for traction, top end for action hahaha
and i dont have space to mount the fal fans on teh other side, for one they are only pullers, and 2nd there is a support on teh other side that will only let me run dual 10" fans
only pullers?
You can’t hook them up bakwards?
you can, but they wont be eficent at all as pushers, the blades are not reversable… i think i did it wheni hooked it up and the air just kinda cavvatated
you should be able to reverse the polarity on those flex a lites.
if you run 10’s i might be interested in the 12’s.
You are right about the fans…“pullers” are designed for the air to flow through them like an air horn, low pressure to high pressure. When you flip the same fan around and make it a “pusher”, you re arrange the flow for high pressure to low pressure. Not good, you want to suck in the low pressure (ambient) air, and concentrate it to high pressure via the “air horn” effect of the blades.
Edit: A fan designed as a pusher style fan will obviously reverse that and make it better, but you are still obstructing air flow…not much though.
I had this exact discussion with a guy at work the other day.
BTW stuff looks good, can’t wait to see it in action!
