def does, but when i’m driving around on city/town streets i’m never driving fast enough to get pulled so i don’t even realize when k band goes off. on the highway staties use ka/laser so those are the only ones i really pay attention too. in jersey i’ll pay attention to x cause they like to fuck with u on that one.

it’s a radar detector, at its roots it is always going to be the same type of hardware, basically a filtered radio receiver
the V1 has all the additional features you need out of a radar DETECTOR, with some logic if you choose to use it and the ability to program its features.
the gps and other bullshit is just stacking shit on top of it, I’m sure its useful but its just fluff, hardware wise I’m sure it uses newer/smaller ic’s and other components but thats just to tidy up packaging
It’s like the Android v. iOS. iOS is simple, to the point and user friendly. Gets the job done and does is well. Android does the same shit, plus more “fluff” as Benjamin put it, and it’s just more hoopla that’s not needed and globs everything up to look “cool”.

The real deal is that with the new cop cars you will get the latest in radar gun technology. Better radar detectors can be and will be made, the issue right now is probably just the cost.

I’ll tell you this much, the guns haven’t changed one bit in the last 5 years i’ve owned a v1. and when they do i’ll just send it back and get it updated
