I’m working on it right now but I should be able to get these… I’m an Escort and BlendMount dealer but I am just waiting to hear back from my supplier as to when they expect to have them. I’ll keep you all posted.
If I lived further out in the country of took long trips all the time it would be V1 hands down.
However after having my V1 annoy me on my daily around town commutes, it’s blissful to have a quiet detector that only worries you when there is an actual reason and no more fake alarms.
this is true, however i’m so used to it now i hit the mute button without even thinking. i keep the v1 in my black s2k. the rest of the time i’m just commuting in whatever and generally do not speed or worry about it. when i’m driving my black car i’m usually on s2k drives or out of town where the gps wouldn’t help because i’ve never been there before.
interested to see what their pricing is, the 9500ix was $550 and even if it was $400 i still would have bought a v1, it all comes down to range and arrows for me
am i the only person in the world that doesnt get annoyed at his detector going off? shit thats what it’s there for. and vlad x band is not used by cops in nys. stop spreading your misinformation.
Nope…me either. It’s there and I tune out the tone from x/k bands. The ka band alert is a different tone and well, the laser tone makes me jump regardless
Plus hard wired v1 with remote mute button is the tits. Can’t drive the HHR without it cause I’m a leadfoot in that thing
GPS feature remembers places of false alarms and ignores them in the future. You can either manually tell it that it’s a false alarm or it will do so automatically after you go by the place a few times and mute it. If there is a new signal source in that area after you muted it, it will pickup the new source and warn you, realizing that something else is going on.
Essentially, after you own it for a few months and do your typical commuting and chores driving around, it will stop triggering for false alarms entirely.
Problem is when you go to new places such as a trip, it will have no idea what is false or not and warn you on everything, reminding you just how annoying that is.
Edit: You could also set it to display your speed if you really cared…
It arguably has slightly better performance (depending on who’s biased review you watch) but overall they are neck and neck in that department.
However it has the arrows pointing you to the direction of the signal source.
The arrows I loved and miss are somewhat gimmicky as they don’t particularly help you in preventing tickets but the awareness of knowing where the cop is without having to see him is priceless. It’s almost like having your own dopler radar. You see him pop ahead as you’re in traffic then he’s to the side and then behind, thats how you know you just passed him. Also on the highway its convenient to know if he’s coming up behind you or just sitting ahead or he’s going the other way on the other side of the highway.
For long trips I’d still take the V1 as my favorite feature of the 9500ix is useless when you’re in a new to you area, but around town I like my piece and quiet.
if u do 5 over you have no reason for a detector unless u just want to know when cops are doing radar because u like to know, i on the other hand drive fast, and frequently and detectors have saved me out of many many speeding tickets.
I don’t usually speed that much. If I’m on a long trip I do just because doing ten over makes a pretty big difference but otherwise I don’t bother. /pjb
