Well it’s about time for an upgrade. I don’t want to go too crazy, but I do want some gaming power (I only play CS:S as of now…) and I want it to last me a while.

Tell me your thoughts on this configuration (from cyberpowersystem)…

dont cheap out on the vid card
dont get that mouse…
ditch the speakers

… buy an emachine and upgrade the videocard.

Which video card would you recommend?

btw. this is a sli motherboard, if i needed an upgrade in the future I can put in an identical video card.

:word: you might want a name brand p/s like antec, especially if youre gaming. cant go wrong with an asus mobo either. and, when running higher end video cards, watch your case temps, might want to have more than 1 case fan.

I’ve got a 6600GT 256 vid card and I run Battlefield 2 on full everything, but I’ll get only 60-FPS max at times. If you want games to be any faster get a better card. Speaking of, you’ll need to buy BF2. :slight_smile:

yep, something like an antec 400w will def outpower a no name 420w, and will last longer too.

^Josh, I’m not seeing a 6600 GT 256 meg on the list, only a 6600 GT 128 meg.

honestly, ive never heard of that. try pm’ing cleanbaldy, he works for a computer place, he can prob point you in the right direction, might even be able to get you a good price on some parts.

Antec is good. I’ve got their 500W power supply. Only cost me $50.
