First off, no we don’t make these in house. We worked with a well known rod manufacturer and chose an an H-beam design that’s durable, well balanced, and fairly priced. These rods are made 100% in the USA, unlike the vast majority of rods on the market including some of the higher end brands which are chinese rods finished in the US. Some of those work fine too, but we know that quality control in the US is better as long as you’re dealing with a reputable company, and now is a great time to deal with an American product.
Here’s a shot of the Innovative Tuning / Manley Performance Products forged connecting rod for EJ18, EJ20, EJ25 (just about all Subaru 4 cylinders including WRX, STI, LGT, FXT models) engines. These are a stock fitment, direct replacement product. If you have any questions or concerns regarding fitment for a custom build please let us know.
Rods are forged, heat treated, stress relieved, and shot peened for added strength. They’re magnafluxed, balanced, weighed and inspected as part of the quality control process. Rods are weight matched into engine sets.

We recommend these rods for 600 hp and 8000 rpm, but they have been tested beyond both of those guidelines without issues. For higher power or RPM builds we have Manley I beam and Carrillo rods. Of course they cost more than double what these do, so we only use them as necessary.
