sooo I got a call this morning about a guy wanting to sell a car to my shop… he was supposed to tow the shit here, but couldnt so me and my buddy took a ride up… guy came 20 minutes late and when he did couldnt find the keys to the car… we left, me and my girl got into a fight so she dropped me and my buddy off at unos at exit 15 and waited for the guy to call… an hour later, guy calls back, has the keys and the negotiating begins… Ended up walking away with the car, a 2008 smart car for $4k lolol… Thinking about holding onto the car and Hyabusa swapping it depending on how much the labor will cost… Already found a bunch of hyabusa motors for like $1,500 so it all depends on the labor… if i go through with it i will likely be painting it too because yellow and smart car = super gay lol
overall the car is fucking hilarious, stock the thing picks up pretty fucking good to be honest and it is surprisingly one of the most spacious coupes i have ever been in if thats believable lol.
There is 1 other company out there also that really popular. I looked at picking one of these up from t car but after looking around at parts needed for a Busa swap I changed my mind. The tranny is the most expensive part at about 3k
dude the strange thing is stock this little fucker actually flys and its only like 40hp and pretty heavy for how small it is lol… raped a civic today lol
The busa swap is ALOT of work. there isnt a “kit”, there is a hefty amount of fabrication needed. Surf around the mini rail forums. The single seater sand rails. You can make it super simple and run a 990 CV rear setup with a simple ass carrier type dif. Picture more or less a ATV swingarm solidly mounted to the chassis, and instead of a solid axle you mount porsche 990 CV joints out towards the hubs.
No reverse. Another sprocket can be mounted and an electric starter motor will run that to move it backwards at a flip of a switch.
the turbo kit is a bit expensive for a hardware only deal. Get just that piggy back tuning solution and I can build a kit and have it installed for less that that kit they sell and installing it.
it has paddle shifters, cvt doesnt shift right so it cant be cvt
i was actually thinking about putting my pawnshop on it, thing gets stuupid looks and id prolly feel less embaressed driving it if it looks like a work vehicle lmao
