go to hell shitbrains it was a joke.
well you kinda posted sonething relevant in this thread nice work , never forget just how special you are kid.
Looks like you have done one hell of a build on your eclipse. I almost bought a nice clean awd one myself a few years ago. Had the cash in hand to buy it too until I sat in it and had to cock my head sideways because of my height. What a damn shame after looking at yours
thanks iceman
update -
Mike got the original 7 bolt motor 90% out, had to drop off a wheel lock yesterday so he can take the tires off and get the axel out of the way so he can take it all the way out.
6 bolt 2.3 motor is waiting to be installed, hopefully the head will be off and sent out to Buschur in the next week or two.
Mike is finishing up a car and then hes going to get started on the AWD swap as well.
snapped some pics of the bottom end of my motor when I stopped by Mikes shop today… 4g64 crank, eagle h beam rods, mahle pistons & arp main studs.
looks badass
Looks like some junk parts in that motor
Its no LT1 we know, but it will serve its purpose. :rofl
This bottom end was purchased ‘built’? If so, I’d STRONGLY suggest taking it apart, inspecting it, measuring ALL clearances, and making changes upon reassembly if needed.
It was purchased from a very good friend of mine who I trust 110% No expense was spared building this motor and ironically enough it was going in an awd swapped 2g spyder before he lost interest lol.
At the VERY minimum, I’d pull 1 rod/piston and check
-Rod/main bearing clearance
-PTWC
-Ring end gaps
when you asked your engine builder to build your motor did you pay to have it built, finish it getting built and then get it back and rip it apart again???
I know what your saying buddy, but I know the guy I bought the motor from, I know the guy that installed the motor parts… I trust both of them 100%.
When i took the head nuts off the studs to send the head out, every bolt was tq’d as it should be, everything is lubed correctly, and it felt right coming apart. I know thats just really the icing on the cake, but that and the cleanliness of the rest of the motor, I have confidence it was assembled right.
But its really only 2 bolts away from pulling a bearing cap, and pulling a slug out to check things over to erase a shadow of doubt I fully understand that.
Me, if it were my motor. And I bought it from say Adam or someone that ditched the project and just wanted to get rid of the motor, i would trust them 100% and install it as is. Its not like it was built for dave by some rando, it was built for someone who intended on using it in their own ride, so it is less a chance it would be installed chincey, doing a build for themselves.
My statement was meant to be totally taken sarcastically. Mahle pistons, Eagle and ARP. All quality!
Buschurs head package was supposed to be $1,800 everything complete and done without cams… Called up to add cams and came to find out #1 installation wasnt included and #2 even though My core that im sending in comes with lifters, rockers and cams, they send the built head back with nothing included lol… Ended up being over $3,000 not including cams so I decided to just peice it out and so far it seems im saving alot.
Buschur racing 272/272 cams, Buschur racing dual valvesprings and titanium retainers, Buschur racing 1mm oversized vavles (holy fuck, $18 a peice lol)
Also bought arp head studs and ferrera valve seals & keepers
Total was under $1,500 WITH the cams…
Is that the best way to spend the money?
