New rims - pics

Any pay like 2x as much? No thanks. Remember, I’m about to propose (paid for the ring on Friday) and get married.

I NEEDED tires (my tires were down to the very last bit of tread left) and there is no sense in putting new tires on bent rims (tried balancing and that didn’t help), as it will eat the tire unevenly, so I got rims too. If my tires were good and my rims weren’t bent, this thread wouldn’t even exist :lol. I’d have just gotten tires when the time came and called it a day.

I’m altering my vehicles appearance slightly, but being smart about it. The rims I just bought cost me less BNIB than a mint set of OEM replacements would have…so again…being smart about it. Dropping 5k in suspension and wheels/tires is not fiscally responsible right now, etc. The products I’m using get good reviews from other owners of THIS car and that’s all that matters to me in the end.

Neither is signing away half of your money for the rest of forever and paying a ton to do it.

:lol…good point. But I have my own opinion on marriage, divorce, etc. Let’s keep this too car talk.

price has nothing to do with our argument on the springs. They could cost $1000 and effectively accomplish the same thing.

I have never been a fan of drop springs on stock dampers. 1-5 dampers last, the rest blow valves and seals.

thats all I ment. To me, a car like that I would either leave alone, or do right the first time.

kk over and out.

I’m going to give it some time before I decide 100% to drop anyway. But if I WAS to drop, then it’d likely be the Espelir’s or Tein’s, which NO ONE has reported blown struts from on the M forums and I’d count that probably 30-35 guys are lowered there.

I’m still undecided though (50/50)…I’ll gave to see the car on a nice sunny day before I decide.

There are a handful of guys with TLs on just the Tein springs. Youre going to buy the springs, then need a camber kit, and by the time that is installed and dialed in, you will want to have spent the extra 4-600 for the coilovers. Drive it stock height and wait till you can afford to do it correct. Less headaches. Of course I dont know how much your coils would be, and how much aftermarket support your car has… maybe try to find a low mileage used set. I know my setup was ~1300 + install and then alignment, but rides awesome, and I dont have to worry about the stock shocks.

Yeah I’ve heard the camber issue too and it seems like only the guys that went 2+ had issues with camber and needed bolts, etc.

If you stay between 1" and 1.7" or so you typically don’t need them.

wheel look amazing, just need to slam dat beech

Fuck it, raise it up

:lol

You gotta drop it, shave the side marker, and shave the door handles.

Hahah.

:lol

You need the lip kit now too

Looks good man

The aero kit is discontinued and nearly impossible to get a hold of. Most dealers only have a side skirt here or a rear skirt there.

The other option is to get the Sarona kit, but that’s like $900. I doubt I’ll ever get it.

Snapped a few more pics tonight…although quickly as it was freezing out.

Can’t look at anything other than your brake rotors are on the wrong side of the car…

:lol

For some reason those wheels look like the new Maximas wheels to me.

Then after googling the new Maxima rims, they look similar but not really as close as I thought

Maxima ones have less spokes. Much more open wheel.

Def needs a decent drop
