really? i’ve never expierenced torque steer in my car I just loose traction on one wheel making it pull.

hmmmm

i’m impressed that a turbo that’s full spool at 2250rpm is holding until almost 6000rpm

With a redesign so it dosent look so cheap, I might do it up

Because Honda doesn’t build turbocharged setups. Just high revving torque less engines that are made for redlining.

[/quote]

yes they do

the Acura RDX
Honda Jetskis

they should’ve done those cobalts like that in the first place, maybe if they did, they’d be 300hp by now :gotme:

2 posts up anyone?

Highest specific out put (power per displacement[130hp/liter]) engine gm has every designed I believe. I’d rock one, thats more power then most past muscle cars, lots of trucks, and still gets good gas mileage. Now all they need is a turbo v6 grand prix tuned to about 400hp.

Why would we want to put that much through the front wheels? Especially with the new G8 platform…

As for the Cobalt SS SIDI-T (for lack of a better term), it was only a matter of time, since they already engineered it for the HHR. It makes me wonder if this motor would fit in the lighter Astra hatch (2600 vs 2900 lbs)…

It’ll be fun when the first NYspeeder straps a decent size turbo on there…

There already is a turbo astra.
vauxhall astra

2.0-liter inline-4 has been pumped up to 237 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque

Bur according to this.
It will never see the states with a turbo. boo.

Yea - but that Astra is a port-injected version, not the SIDI for the new Cobalt. And like you said, it’s unavailable in the States. I’d bet the SIDI-T version would do better than a 6.2 second 0-62 that the VXR does.

bump

no lift shift is pretty neat. OEM power shifting. wonder how the clutches will hold up.

if only the car looked as good as those power curves…it should be pretty cool tho.

The thing made it around Nürburgring in 8:22 something. Anyone know how good that is for a FWD?

EDIT:

8:11 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR prototype, 280 PS/40.8 kgf·m/1420 kg, Takayuki Kinoshita (Best Motoring International video “Carrera Invasion”)
