My car was in for some warranty work and they noticed that my UCA bushings were shot and the dealer said they were going to replace them. Whenever I’ve done CAs, I’ve always done them all at once which usually warranted an alignment.
Is this something that should always be done as part of this? I ask because they pointed out that I needed an alignment and they’d be happy to do it (on my dime of course) but I was thinking that if they were doing warranty work that would warrant an alignment as part of the process, then it should be included anyway.
Thoughts?
Just trying to make sure I’m not retarded before berating the service manager
I’ve never been one of those people that liked the “if I notch the TRE and count the threads, I can get the alignment back where it should be” and always do it. Then again, I do them regularly as opposed to when the car starts suddenly veering to the left on the highway. I was always under the impression that if the CAs, TREs, and others were removed, you were supposed to perform an alignment.
Kind of like using a torque wrench on your lug nuts I guess…
Does the entire ca need to be removed for the bushing to be replaced?? On my m3 when i did lca i didnt do an alignment, but thats because when i did thr lca, i didnt have to remove any bolts that are used to adjust alignment specs… Is that the case here?
