New wheels on the evo

nice rotas

i keed

Nice Evo 9 stockers

I bet rota offers them in 9" lol…

what size tires are you running? 255/40/17?

well the last number is def not right…

lol… I was thinking about 17" wheels, probably because I own 3 sets… my bad.

PS: i got centercaps with my VS-xxS

terdblown teg has these on his honda fit i believe

Good look. I wish my garage was that tidy

very nice, one question. I see a lot of people using “beat” wheels for track days. Do track days really take a number on your wheels?

it’s mostly about the brake dust from track pads. if you don’t really stay on top of cleaning the wheels then it can mess them up. Also people don’t care what the car looks like for the 4 hours a month of use. people also see it as a place to save money.

the big downside is that often the size and weight is not desirable. (ie. stock evo wheels are only 8" wide and are not the lightest)

what’s the reasoning for that if the diameters are the same size? added strain due to weight/frictional differences between 2 tire sizes?

i’ve always known, but never known exactly why… any input?

I always suspected that any limited slips would be working overtime due to the difference in weights and traction. you can change the offset without problems. A lot of evo owners who track their cars run a small spacer on the front only.

They are a flush cap correct? I will have to check the clearnace over the axle stub/nut. If it would clear, may trouble you to measure 1 for me. Thanks.

Jeller

From my understanding, because it beats up the center diff.
Front and rear turn radii differ because of difference in wheel track F&R.

My wheels are ruined because of brake dust from a track day last year. It is def. worth getting a spare set of wheels/tires

BTW: Nice choice Jeller. It looks HOT!

no, they’re ruined because you didn’t clean them as soon as you got home. it’s a must do with track pads.

Winner.

X…

that was YOUR job since you drove my car and you waited a week before taking the track pads off…only to put the regular brakes on backwards

while on the subject… make sure to remove any serious track pad right away… they’ll appear to work well on the street and then randomly fall apart which can be very dangerous.

I ruined a set of 18’s, F IT, the Hawk Blues are so damn good I wouldn’t have it any other way. I cleaned them after I got off the track and they were still ruined. It seems like after the 2nd track day I could not get the dust off, the 1st time it came off, after that no go.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: I don’t even want to know how you pulled off that man:lol::lol::lol::lol:
