New York Safety Track: Hapersfield, NY

awesome, i just moved to east syracuse and this is only 2hours from me…I may have to go check this out one weekend

looks fun but I can make it to the Glen in under 2 hours.

Def worth checking out if they have some sort of "lapping’ days.

x…

Sorta bummed on pricing. They require a membership to get into their “member track days” which looks like you have to do since all the other groups there are motorcycle track day companies. The $50/year membership isn’t bad but the $290 a day for cars is a bit ridiculous. I can go to The Glen for cheaper than that…

Yeah, $290 per event + $50 per year is a little steep, especially if you were only thinking about hitting up one event there just to check it out.

Only 2.5 hours outside of NYC

^ I think that’s the problem. It’s priced for NYC.

$290 per car? for how many hours of available track time? that seems pretty outrageous when Dunnville used to be under $100/car for 8hrs.

I e-mailed them about it and they said that it would be limited to 20 per group (2 groups of bikes, 1 group of cars). I’ve gone to events at Watkins that don’t have many more than that for a bit cheaper. I was really hoping this would be an affordable option. Bikes are $220 which isn’t as bad.

Yep, and bikes are their main customers who don’t have many track options so I’m sure they’re fine with it.

Comparing dunnville to anything other than TMP is a joke. Both those places pretty much suck in comparison to any other track mentioned in this post. Lasertron go karts are only like 20 bucks but head up to canada and get in some shit that will scare the hell out of you for 80 bucks. It’s all relative

^speaking of which, what are some good karting spots in Canada? Last time I went searching for one they require you to pit every lap to give them “tickets.”

The runoff situation at the Saftey Track is pretty bad currently- there pretty much isn’t any. I guess that is a bit more of a concern for guys like me with a bike, but take it as you will. Wish cars wouldn’t come and polish the track already with it not even being open a few months, but new options outside of NJMP are always welcome.

Well with the prices they’re charging for cars I’d expect you wouldn’t have to worry about that too much.

I looked at all the clubs having days of their own and all are bike days. The only way to get the price cheaper MIGHT be to rent the track on a weekday (since weekends seem all booked) and load it up with people. Considering how many people we had signing up for Dunnville back in the day (closer track, cheaper price) a private rental during the week would be very difficult to pull off. Looks like membership + member track day is the cheapest option for any car looking to drive this track.

While they may be charging more it will keep the average asshole with a shitty bone stock car from taking everyone out in the first corner.

Just picked this up (the membership and 2 track days one) and plan on heading up to this on the 11th (and using the other one next year). Anyone else in? It’s super affordable with the Groupon.

Fuck I need to get another bike and get a track day in.
