It’s pretty hacked up w/o the CF, the slot I had to cut is about 2" x 8".
Pretty brutal.
I got the trans tunnel and passenger seat installed this weekend. I have a lot of other BS happening right now that is decreasing my desire to be in the garage…

Can you mount the CF under the dash pad, to the firewall/structure, so the slot (Clean the edges up a little) sits/slides over it? Maybe even do some vinyl overlay on the CF to add to the detail work. That patch panel on top looks out of place, IMO. But not horrible.
Essentially you would be able to slide the dash in and out if ever needed. It might look a little better. If you can avoid wrapping the dash it looks better OEM.

Along the lines of what someone else said… Companies sell leather dash kits that adhere to plastic dashes. When done right it looks very nice and subtle. I would def consider that. Regardless… nice work
I’m not planning on making the interior shine until later. I just don’t want a huge hole in the top of the dash. Keep in mind this is a car with no carpet, no speakers, no hvac, no other trim.
What if you took the same idea as that aluminum and cf bezel in the engine bay and applied it to the dash? Could easily put it in and take it out as needed if it’s secured with screws. I guess it could be bad for glare though.

A little update.
I was getting really unmotivated to work on the car for a while because my girlfriend of 1.5 years and I were going through some shit, so I was pretty bummed and didn’t want to do much work on the car, though what I did do seemed therapeutic…
I came to my senses, however, and gave that fucking whore the axe.
Now arises an entirely new set of complications: The single life.
I can do whatever I want, to whoever I went, whenever I want. This new and interesting development has REALLY cramped my interest in the bimmer.
Hanging with the dudes, penetrating the ladies. It’s hard to find the time.
Frankly, I’d say it’s unlikely the car will see the road this year.
