well, i dont know if everyone knew what car i have now. But It started off as a completly stock 328is. Well, i was happy for a little while until i got the urge again.
I swapped in a 3.91lsd diff compared to my stock 2.93 open diff, I wanted a little extra umph and i got it. Well, it just started snow balling from there.
this is what i started off with.
some ideas of the space constraints so you see what i have hd to deal with. This mani took about 3hrs to remove and another 3hrs to reinstall. Im getting better at it though.:hitit:
here is my new ireland engineering motor mounts cuz the old liquid filled ones just were too big. Still a tight fit.
also another pic of a custom motor mount brackit to help clear the turbo inlet.
and then all together under the motor.
ok, now onto some more fun stuff. Here is a pick of me making a custom intercooler bracket. and another pic of me mounting the intercooler.
me test fitting up the intercooler piping that needs to be fitted/welded/installed.
too the turblo
off the intercooler to the TB
Pic of the downpipe that i started to weld and have finished at hybrid connection.
still tight, close call. you know what they say, “measure once and cut twice”
heres a pic of the modified ssautocrome mani that needed to be routed for external dump. I had to test fit this about 10 times cuz of clearance issues.
Here is a pic of my standalone engine management. MegaSquirt.
mounted and installed inside the glove box.
some finished pics of piping
wow, another tght fit for the wastegate.
random turbo pic
oil feed routing. yet another battle do to clearance issues.
Crappy oil drain, thats ok because im going topmount over the winter.
some MegaSquirt wiring nightmares.:hitit:
Well, after all this hard work i this was the result. Here is a vid of my first attempt at 5psi and slipping clutch.

out with the old clutch and in with the new.
This stock compression at 10.5:1 just isnt working out.

And after all the hard work and long nights this is how she looks.
Car has recently been to lancaster where i ran a best of 7.7 @ 94mph. The car is at 15psi and feels great. I just ordered my knock sensors so i can datalog and run more timing, possibly more boost.
HUUUUUUUGE PROPS go out to those that helped me through out this long winter build.
Hybrid connection, for welding most of everything for me and giving me the best prices around.
