Hello everyone. My name’s Kamil. I’m located in Cheektowaga, NY and I’m a total n00b to the NYSpeed forums. At 1st, I only joined to try to sell my '03 350Z. After some lurking, I’ve come to realize that this forums has lots to offer. A huge member list, lots topics and info relating to the automotive sports in NY.
Since I joined, I figured I might as well share with the NYSpeed community what I’ve been working on since last year. I present to you my project: 95 Nissan 240SX KA24DET: Power goals are to hit ~400hp for starters and work my way up from there. After the car’s done I’d like to participate in some Auto-X, time attack etc etc.
My donor - this is where it all started - a 95 Nissan 240SX. NY salt killed the underbody on it so it was time to let it go. I kept the motor, tranny, ECU and couple misc interior trim pieces and tailights. Rest was parted out/scrapped. I really miss this car
Good part was, all the $ I made from the part out I used on this project so it wasn’t a complete waste. Here are two pics of my old S14.5:

Here is what’s been done to the motor to get it ready for boost:
Bottom end:
Bored .020 over and honed
Clevite Main and Rod Bearings
AMS Sportsman Series Rods
Arias 8.8:1 pistons
ARP Main Studs
ARP 10mm Head Studs
Balanced whole rotating assembly
Head:
5 angle job
Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams
Supertech INCONEL Exhaust Valves - 0.7mm oversize
Supertech Intake Valves - 0.5mm oversize
OEM timing rebuild kit & using original cam sprockets
1.5mm Cometic HG - due to resurfacing
The rest of the pictures kinda go in chronological order from the engine tear down, to the rebuild and prep work on the new S14 shell I purchased from Chantille, VA.

^ Thats what helped me get through everything! lol
I’m piecing together a turbo kit at the moment. I’ve been doing a lot of research over the past few months and here’s what I came up with for my power goal - between 380-450hp. Eventually, I’d like to start participating in time attack (if soon to be wife allows hehe) but here’s my list, please feel free to leave me comments/suggestions. I’m open to any feedback on this!
-T3/T4 turbo manifold (PeakBoost) w/ 38mm wastegate or maybe JGS, we’ll see how tight $ is
-t3/t4 hybrid turbo- already purchased - turbine AR.63/Compressor.50
-open dump pipe
-Tial wastegate 38mm @ 19 psi
-most likely a custom 3" dowpipe with yet to be determined full 3" exhaust
-Z32 MAF
-2.5" IC piping hot side, 2.75" cold side with yet to be determined intercooler brand and size - any suggestions for my set-up?
-aluminium radiator
-HKS SSQV b.o.v
-nismo FPR or similar
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-Nismo thermostat
-piecing together my own oil cooler kit
-turbo timer
-boost gauge
-boost controller
-O2 wideband
-knock sensor light
-AFR gauge
-other miscelaneous gauges
-one-piece driveshaft
-Spec flywheel - already purchased and balanced with the crank
-Spec Stage 3 clutch
-stock transmission - this will be replaced after I blow it, then I’ll use my spare one, blow that one up lol and then finally I’ll swap in a Z32 transmission
Wanted to save the last part for it’s own paragraph…engine management - I plan on using Nistune. I watched the whole video that was posted on Youtube a while back:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjQJxWSEgHE ,and to me, that looks like THE BEST method to tune your nissan. Of course I will not be tuning it myself. Or I might go with AEM EMS…I don’t know yet.
Thanks for reading and please feel free to add suggestions if you think I might’ve missed something over. As you can see I did a lot of homework ![]()
I think I should’ve put the good ole “56k beware” in the topic line LOL. If everything goes according to plan the car will be finished by next summer! If the 350Z sells then it might be sooner. Time will tell…
