Kamil's 95 KA24DET project

Finally finished my intake mani. Got rid of the PCV lines to the intake runners. Still have to run a catch can line from the breather seperator.

Looks real clean

Looks great. Like the color scheme. I hope you plan to paint that oil pan though.

Thanks!

Thank you. And the oil pan is only on there temporarly to keep dust/dirt out. I’m going with Xcessive oil pan adapter so I can run a SR20 sump. That’ll yield better oil cooling and better oil capacity to prevent oil starvation around corners.

Here’s the link to the oil pan adapter:

Hehe what up Chris. How are you my friend? Does your friend Dan (I believe thats his name) still tune ECUs? I might need his help with Nistune!

Welcome, and very nice project

Thanks and thanks!

Small update: Ordered my Peakboost exhaust manifold as well as a set of OBX overdrive pulleys in red  I decided to go bigger in the wastegate flange. Original size I wanted to go with was 38mm but I went with the 44mm to help prevent boost creep. Also wont need to worry once I go with a bigger turbo, which I know I will lol

Thank you sir!

V-band adapter came in today. Installed it to make sure it fit. 4 of the 5 bolts went in no problem, however, the 5th one has trouble clearing the flange as you can see in one of the pics. I’ll have to use one with a smaller head.

I went yesterday to Swerve Motorsports and bought some heat refective tape. I bought a 12x12 sheet of gold and 12"x24" sheet of silver. Here’s what I did with the gold sheet:

I wrapped some of the firewall with the silver heat shield. Stuff sticks really good once you lay it down. We’ll see how well it actually works.

Ok small update:
I couldn’t stand the color of my tension bars so I painted them a color that will suit better the current color theme so I went with metallkic gold. They used to be forest green and it just wouldn’t look right. I went ahead and removed the stupid brake dust shield  I also removed the original power steering pump as I just realized my S14.5’s power steering pump was shot and stupid me installed it lol So I removed it and took the one off of the donor KA, wire brushed the hell out of it and put it on. Engine bay is pretty much ready, just gotta get stainless steel braided lines for the cluth and brakes. Next week the Peakboost turbo mani shopuld be here!!!

Are those ksport coilovers?

You’ll be better off building a metal heat shield for the turbo/master, then putting the reflective tape on the outside of that. Just FYI.

Yep.

I’ve got similar plans. That’ll be in the future updates.

I’ve personally seen the threaded sleeve break off completely from bottom portion of the coilover. Just thought I’d throw that out there. Nice build though

I, personally have never seen it happen. I’ll take these K-Sports over stock suspension anyday.

I feel much better now that I’ve sold that “eBay” turbo and got this bad boy. It’s got 2k miles on it but it’s better than what I had. There is absolutely no shaft play on it and the blades seem to be in good shape. I know this will eventually fail, but when it does and I’ll send it in for a rebuild and go ball bearing

Still waiting on the Peakboost manifold. They called me on Friday and told me it should be here early next week! Crossin my fingers that it’s true.
