before my motor went in my car, my engine builder gave me an empty cylinder tank, kinda like a propane tank, you screwed off the top, put in the oil, sealed it, and there was a fitting for a compressor. One side of the fitting went to a tiny compressor (i had a 2 gallon in my basement where i did it) and the other went to the oil pressure sending unit (obv it was removed)
one person cranked and the other would open and close the fitting
the valve cover was off so as the rockers went up and down you could see the oil squirting and lubing up the cam etc.
edit: engine wasnt on the floor, it was on a stand =p
It kind of says I’m not trying way too hard to be clean and status quo and that’s why I like it. It’s a lot more raw looking, almost like it’s flexing its muscles. There is no rule book for building cars that says the intercooler has to be behind the bumper.
I think it would look retarded on a rounder shaped car but on something like this it works well for me.
Question:
Can you talk more about this? I wanted to do this type setup in my car and not run that huge catch can.
So you are running this and a catch can?
Your way makes sense to me in that this would help draw the oil vapor into the can.
