Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

anytime i think of josh getting down and dirty all i can think of is the one day at valet where we were sweeping the booth and it was “dusty” in there and he had to stop
which then can only remind me of one thing

watch 1:14 to 1:35 and 1:49 to 1:56
just messing around josh <3

+1

must of been a relief to hear it run, it sucks that you had to take the intake mani off to fix the leak tho :frowning:

“I think I’m getting the black lung”

lol, Mike you’ve been there several times when I’ve been there.

Ordered up THESE:

Now I can run much boost. LOL.

Newman fixed what turns out to be a common wiring issue with this EMS on this application. The manufacturer of the ECU doesn’t acknowledge it as a “known issue” so it’s not listed in the documentation and Newman had to figure it out for himself.

Here’s the first startup video I promised:

woowoo

congrats… when will it be on the road

still have a bunch of crap to do… i’m hoping as soon as there is no snow…

That’s true and you never know when the snow is going to stop, but you’re in the home stretch so you’re in good shape.

good looks

Insane that I have worked on this fucking thing for 3.5 years… damn.

That’s crazy.
Must be awesome to have it almost ready to be on the road. :tspry:

I predict this being ready to fly before the salt is even off the roads, and that will make the first clean roads run awesome, because most of the shake down will already be done.

I still cant believe that the EMS cant properly turn off two simple relays, especially being “Plug and play”.

Oh well, at least it works rewired.

Dan

 to getting it fired up.

in a row?

try not to suck any dick on the way through the parking lot.

Congrats on the milestone man, the feeling of that first start up is indescribable.

man, they saw you coming. you couldnt make that? i mean, it only takes you two minutes to draw a lamp and all. lol

whens dyno day?

They’re probably stamped with a raised ridge. I couldn’t make those easily.
