I kind of cheated. HSBC and JPM were the only ones with the available resources to take them on. The regulators called us to try and sweet talk a deal and we said we wanted no part of it whatsoever, which left JPM by default.
No. JP bought the ASSETS fo WaMU, not the equity (stocks). It wasn’t an equity investment by JP.
Yea, WaMu technically went under, it wasnt outright bought by JPMorgan. FDIC just sold the assets to them so they didnt have to cover it with their lacking funds.
