Which is not in production yet, and the only production possibility as of RIGHT NOW would be in the new Focus. I can assure you it will not make that much power in the Focus either…
…
Seemed like you where refering to the V6 ecoboost.
It be hard to picture a svo variant with a eco boost 4 cyl with how much heavier this platform is
It will make the same amount of power whatever car it is in
lol
Those numbers can change.
They may de tune it for the focus. IF it even happens
how much boost are they running through it to make 247hp?
I think it would be REALLY hard to have a turbo charged 4-cylinder engine getting over 30mpg running with 300hp. You’re looking at boost at least in the 15 psi range. Also, OEM’s almost always heir on the side of caution and run the cars a little richer than most tuners would choose. If a tuner leaned it out, you MIGHT get there. I just don’t think it’s likely.
Mid-20’s would be more likely.
The 3.5 are running 12psi now
I got 30mpg today average on my 25 mile highway commute in the A3 which has ~ 270 crank. It’s direct inject but doesn’t have too many other modern tricks like variable cams or manifolds. On days that I really flog it I can get it down to 26-27mpg.
I think it can be done from the factory with more technology thrown in.
EPA estimates say that the 2010 a3 gets 22/28 with 24 combined
you have a handful of mods too, right?
I just have a larger catless downpipe and APR stage II software. So I’m basically getting those stock numbers but with a bunch more power.
The large point being that a slightly better generation of direct inject motors should easily get 30mph highway with 300hp
word, so you’re probably running a bit leaner than factory car would be.
I’m not saying it isn’t possible, but I think it’s unlikely for a 4 cylinder turbo to do 300hp or more and still get 30mpg CONSISTENTLY.
This.
And keep in mind that the current 3.7L N/A V6 that already comes in the base cars is 300 horse / 31 MPG. It will likely be the 3.5L six.
My 2.0t a4 would get 30-32 if I took it easy. was tuned tho.
I would like to see an ecoboost focus

This. It would be nice, but we never seem to get the really cool stuff that Europe already has. Like the sick nasty Focus FR500 with a Volvo turbo 5cyl. and flat black paint treatment that makes around 300hp…
I thought the ecoboost focus got the green light for production already? I know the ecoboost 4cyl is already confirmed for the 2013 taurus. They claim 30mpg on that boat and that is a 4300 battleship
I’ll take a twin turbo 5.0 in the stang.
I know they are considering an Ecoboost 4pot for the Explorer believe it or not and had heard something about them using it in the Taurus, but I haven’t seen any official news as of yet on the Focus getting the green light. I haven’t looked very hard though.
