drag, a dart with a 440 (or maybe a posttop nova with a cammed 454) and either fabbed forced induction or cheap nitrous kit.
track, E30 bimmer. first gen supra would be hot too. none of these would murder a budget.
awesome choice. if that car had any other badge on it it would be regarded as one of the greatest sports cars of all time. but since it is a porsche with an inline four out front, it is often overlooked.
i think i would pick up a mk1 VW and a Syncro drivetrain from Canada and see where things went from there…
