looks cool but need for speed always dissopoints after underground 2. i bought pro street and it kinda was not that fun after a while…240sx in the game or not…ide rather jsut wait and get GT5…woo!!
Drifting is hard in shift…
i hate ai in the game too, the always crash my s14 after the race is done and fold my front end in.
I have only done 5 races so far but i only “won” once lol third place… very hard to steer in this game, it feels like the back end is starting to slide out with the slightest turn…Got to get used to it.
I played it this whole morning beat almost all the races as fast as i could… unlocked crap… unlocked tier 3 stuff and upgraded the 240 all the way… then got bored.
Didnt take no screencaps but… at first the keyboard control felt crap (need a wheel) as it was too twitchy or rather… if u pressed < or > it would turn slowly and linearly (of course) but if u tap tap then it goes too much. I got used to it… but meh I rather not waste time in a video game lol.
I want to buy the veyron but i didnt unlock to there quite yet… and its a money pit.
If anyone dislikes the steering sensitivity, I used the suggestions on this xbox forum (both suggestions) and the game has a HUGE difference!!! I love it now, it was fun before but now its awesome!

"Sensitivity Config:

Accel Dead Zone-10%
Brake Dead Zone-10%
Steering sensitivity-5%
Acell Sensitivity -5%
Brake sensitivity-5%
Speed steering Sensitivity 100%
At the main menu enter CAR GARAGE----> TUNING, press ‘Y’ to enter quick tuning mode.
Under the heading ‘balance’ move the slider all the way to OVERSTEER. That’s right oversteer. Apparently the developer labeled this slider wrong or its a glitch. Turning the slider to oversteer will actually add understeer."
Got this for ps3 the day it came out. Havnt took any screen shots yet. Anyone else have a hell of a time gettin 1200 point on the Ebisu Circuit? Took me quite a few tries till I finally found out how to take the hairpins perfect everytime.
I almost threw my steering wheel out the window trying to do Ebisu. Hard as hell!
i bought it and dont like it… if anyone wants to buy my copy $50 for the ps3 just pm me
Yeah once I figured out the technique I can manage over 1500 in 3 runs now
Try the steering settings i posted up, much better game IMO after that.
few crummy pics i took.
was more focused on playing the game rather then taking pics
flag girl was inside my viper at the begining of a race… thought it was weird
This game is sooo inconsistent and buggy.
- it’s crashed like 3 times (PS3)
- there was a pit girl standing INSIDE my S14 at the beginning of one race
- sometimes there is no sound for the first lap in quick race > drift mode
- sometimes the sound (exhaust/engine noises) sputter
- there is no engine/exhaust sound when you lift off the throttle or downshift
- some cars feel decent, some are complete crap
- the AI is gay
- “drifting” events all of the sudden totally change the physics (does not just feel like different tires)
- drifting is retarted
I’m using a G25 with all pro settings on, and have played with the steering settings for hours
I’ll be playing it until GT5 comes out, and maybe once in a while after if I feel like driving a Porsche. However, I just finally bought a GT3 RS and was less than impressed.
Everything aside, it’s awesome to be driving a black Kouki on the Nurburgring with rims of my choice (although it would be nice to have a set of MB Battles in the game so I could replicate my car exactly…but no complaints, they aren’t baller rims anyways).
I must say I’m impressed for a NFS game, but when it comes down to it, all I care about are physics. The tracks, cars, and girls can look nice, but I just want to have the feeling that I’m actually improving my real-world driving skills when I play a racing game. There are definitely some things it does better than Gran Turismo (some sound effects, photo-mode, more tracks than GT5P, has Porsche, more realistic body roll in cockpit view, etc.), but when it comes down to it, GT5 is miles ahead in my books.
I guess maybe I’ve grown out of “games” and can only really fall in love with a simulator.
Before anyone starts:
Yes I’ve played GTR2, yes I’ve played Richard Burns Rally, yes I’ve played (insert racing game title here), and YES Gran Turismo has things to improve upon, and YES nothing replaces driving in real life…but, ultimately, GT5 FTW.
That’s why Gran Turismo has things like this: http://www.gtplanet.net/category/gt-academy/
That’s why professional drivers achieve almost identical lap times in Gran Turismo as they do in real life in the same car/track.
That’s why Ferrari/Lotus/Citroen, etc. are unveiling new cars in the game.
That’s why Formula 1 drivers and other professionals use it to practice.
That’s why the international editor of Road and Track wrote an introduction to the game (found in the GT5p case) discussing real life vs. Gran Turismo.
Alright, I’m done ranting. I’m not even ranting to anyone on here. I’m just fucking anxious for this shit to come out as I’m not even driving at the moment and won’t be hitting the track until the spring.
/rant, awaiting flaming.
^ I agree with everything you said. From the beginning though, I knew it wasn’t going to be a real sim like game, so I wants as disappointed and just like the game for what it was… A decent NFS.
On the second part of your post, replace “GT5” with “Forza 3” FTW!
haha.
there’s always this too:
I didnt play nfs since my last post in here. Got bored quickly… I like simulators.
I played that religiously while I had my G25 setup. Awesome game. I still have my S2 license.
What I REALLY want to try is iRacing. I need a beast of a PC to run that though. That’s the sim of all sims.
Blah, I guess I should post a couple pics:
WOAH I never heard of this, looks SICK: http://www.iracing.com/
Then tehre is apparently rfactor which is supposedly free never heard of it:
