Niagara Meet Info ***UPDATED***

so the Niagara meet is just a few days away.

i’d like to address a few issues that people have been asking in public so that everyone can see.

PASSENGERS & GUESTS

yes you are welcome to bring as many people as you like.

my only request is that everyone, or almost everyone, eats at the buffet. the revenue that the restaurant generates is what allows us to reserve the large rear dining room and give us our own seperate entrance not to mention use of 90% of the parking lot as well.

i would also ask that you and your guests be on excellent behaviour.

even though there are people helping to organize this event it is still going to be difficult for myself and impossible for the management of the restaurant to keep an eye on all the people at this meet.

it is likely that 100-140 people will show up at one time or another and keeping track of everyone is not going to be easy at all.

PARKING

this is a big issue.

there is a large gravel lot at the back that we can use, but there are 2 dumpsters in the middle of it and when it rains it usually puddles up in the centre. that said, even despite these issues we can fit another 30-40 cars back there.

once the large convoy from mississuaga shows up we will likely fill up all the spaces and then fill in the lot inbetween. making little room for cars to come and go as they please.

i will be moving some of the concrete barriers between us and the next lot so that there is a way to exit for the parked cars.

i will try to accomodate as many 240sx’s as possible, but there will be supra’s TT Z32’s etc in the parking lot with us.

the parking lot next door is quite large and alot of local guys gather there with modified cars every sunday evening before cruise night to the falls.

the miata club is gathering there on sunday afternoon as will many other local car guys, so it is likely that the lot next door will be almost as fun as the one at the restuarant.

DINNER

it is likley that there will be too many people to all seat comfortably at once even though the dining room has a capacity of 80 - 100 people.

what we will do is have a 2.5 hour buffet window where all the people who are eating can sit and eat at their own pace. it is likely that this will be between 5-7pm.

diners are free to go back and forth from the dining room through the large seperate entrance.

this will make it more difficult to organize and manage for myself and the restuarant, but it will be easiest for the guests.

NAME TAGS - WRIST BANDS

when paying for the buffet people will be giiven a name tag to wear. i am trying to find sticker wrist bands but i cant for the life of me for some reason. anyone got the hook up on that?

on the name tags persons should put their forum Id and their real name.

please post your questions here and i will try to answer then promptly.

there is a 30% chance of isolated showers on sunday.

that is about the same as we had last year.

unless there is a monster thunderstorm, this meet will still be taking place regardless.

In case any of you decide to get lost…

good work,

i got the wrist bands today too

isnt there a 30 car convoy? whoever leads should print this out lol

I got more specific ones for the convoy… donchuu worry your pretty little face off.

I’ve been to Cosy many times it’s not hard to get to at all…

2 WAY RADIOS!. Please bring them!

How much gas would I need for the trip there and back?

I need to know, as this is the determining factor as to whether or not i’m going.

Preferrably in dollars, and in Ultra 94.

no offence, but that is such a stupid question. You could easily find that out yourself.

has there been a time set at all Bing?

Well it is roughly 1 1/2 hour trip to get there. Which is roughly 150km. Plus St. Cats cruising km. So add all those together, mulitply it by 2 for return trip. The depending on how your car is on gas = 40litres to be safe.
Depending on the fluxuating gas prices it will be roughly $40.

no offence, but that is such a stupid question. You could easily find that out yourself.[/quote]

No offence but I hate you and hope you trip in an embarrasing location.

JK

It’s not really that stupid of a question. I’ve never been to niagara falls, thus I have no idea how far away it is. Nor do I know how much cruising is going on.

Thank you syd_mysta

Sean, most people will be showing around 2:30 - 3:00pm

you are welcome to show up earlier if you like.

if the rain is such that people feel uncomfortable standing outside i will open up the lower banquet hall for people to chill in as well.

i got a call from the “War of the Wheels” television show yesterday and again today.

there will be a rep from the show handing out information and recruiting individuals for the television show to be filmed later in the summer.

some of you folks may want to bring a resume…lol

also, be nice.

pics of the parking lot:

this is the gravel lot behind the restaurant, when it rains the spot in the centre usualy forms a puddle.

if that happens i will park some irrelevant cars over it, like my moms van or something…lol

the dumpsters cannot be moved

http://www.son240sx.ca/cpgallery/albums/userpics/10135/DSC01934.JPG

this is the back half of the parking lot. we can fit about 20 cars in this section.

we cna also fit another 20-30 at the front and side of the building and another 25+ in the rear…

the only problems will be keeping the ground dry…

Dining room is now set up.

there will be a table for SON admin to accept membership donations tomorrow.

there are SON240sx name tags for everyone to where on their shirts.

the dining room will seat slightly over 80 people at any given time, there will be enough time for 2 turns of the dining room.

FINALIZED MENU

Chicken fried rice
Egg Rolls (hand made on-site)
Pizza Rolls
Beef & Brocolli on Chow Mein noodles
Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls (made on-site)
Honey Spare Ribs
BBQ chicken wings
Szechaun delight (<<spicy)

also, my aunt went out and got a large carrot cake and some of those cream puff things for dessert since she knows that we will all be on our best behaviour just like last year…

ITEMS FOR SALE?

i have a table set up where i am going to put a few items for people to check out like the intercoolers and subframe collars.

if you guys have some clean items you are looking to find buyers for you are more than welcome to sit them on the tables as well.

i expect most people to bring little trinkets they have for sale… i’m always looking to buy stuff too…lol

WEATHER

there will not be any rain in the afternoon but there is supposed to be just 1mm of rain in the evening.

nothing we cant handle.

it has stopped raining now,

the back gravel lot is fine, we are good to go.

should be able to fit everyone in the lot tomorrow.

im pumped…can’t sleep…lol

again i am reminding people to bring trinkets that they have for sale to the meet.

also, bring your video equipment to take lots and lots of video.

ROUGH TIMETABLE:

2:00 - 3:30 pm

most cars should arrive in this time frame. the convoy from ssuaga will be slightly later.

the convoy coming from the US is leaving at 2:30pm

many individuals are coming earlier to help set up and steal the prime spots…lol

3:30 - 5:00

shoot the $hit with everyone and check out the ssuaga convoy roll in

we should get all the cars settled during this time.

payment for the buffet should also be made during this time as well as memberships to the club. each will have their own table.

there are name tags that should be filled out and wrist bands for people eating at the buffet that should be worn to show you have paid.

5:00 - 7:00

food is served. the dining room is set up for just over 80 people at once. there is enough time for 2 turns of the dining room and if need be the food will be served until required.

7:30 - 8:30

during this time some people will be sent to Niagara Falls to reserve some space at the cruise night venue.

some more networking and then prep for the cruise to Niagara Falls

9:00

we should be in the Falls by this time.

there will be another bunch of cars out there provided they can hack the light rain.

usually lots of hotrods etc. but might not be as many tomorrow.

9:00 - monday morning…lol

i am sure many out of towners will head home but for those that dont there are a TON of things to do on a sunday night in the summer in Niagara.

Niagara Falls - take your lady friend to the falls for a romantic molesting…lol

Casinos - i know some people are getting hotels near the casinos, check them out if you havent already

Port Dalhousie - likely to be a VERY busy night in Port Dalhousie on the water in St. Catharines about 5 minutes from the restuarant.

Strip Clubs - if my gf werent helping out tomorrow i’d be at the sundowner…lol

follow the crowd - i am sure many people have plans, be spontaneous and enjoy yourself as legally as you can.
