Nissan 200sx's...??

Does anyone know much about these cars other than the obvious?

I’m interested in a Turbo’d one as a winter car…but I’m not sure…

Some things I’m wondering are:

-Reliable?

-Expensive parts?

-Major issues?

a hard to find car thats for sure.

I was looking for one myself…the only one that I seen was a SE-R for 5500 with 250,000kms…From what I hear they are quite reliable. I just bought the earlier equivalent, an nx 2000… a turbo version of either would probably go like snot.

I think he is referring to a S12 200sx RWD which came with a ca18et

mid 80s car rather than a mid 90s car

Correct, the SE version came with a V6.

I love the car, and they are super rare, but I’m worried that they have near no aftermarket capabilities…

…can anyone say otherwise?

Also! Could one swap a CA18DET into the beast?? Or how about the SR20DET??

I mean swap in reasonably easily…not custom fit every damn thing.

actually i read an article about them awhile back. The aftermarket mod’s on them are slim to none

Theyre was one for sale with an SR in it…not sure if its still around

search the for sale threads. There are a few that may be still for sale.

Anyone know that garreth guy personally?

He has no contact info other than on here.

Ya there is almost no aftermarket for them.
check out

???

yeah there is alot of different swaps you can do for it such as CA18DET, SR20DET, FJ20DET or even other ones. Alot of modification required though and alot of parts out of Japan and Europe will be needed

The CA is a direct swap other then the harness

Anyone??

Phone number?

Alternative email?

Mod’s can such info be released? I’m guessing not.

he is on dorikaze, have you checked for him there?

hehehe i dunno how reliable a mid 80’s turbo car would be… the ca18et is SOHC right?

I had a modded 1985 200SX Turbo awhiles back, drove it through 2 winters fine… that being said… just cause you CAN do it… doesn’t mean you should. haha.
I had no real issues with the car myself and other then not starting on freaken cold days, it was fine. Parts are not expensive but are somewhat hard to come by… you’re basically just searching junkyards and hoping for the best.
