Nissan 240sx Floors

Alright… well I’ve made a template for a drivers side floor, and am hoping to replicate a new floor. I cut mine out today and I’m going to see if I can get a exact fit replacement from the template, from 1 1/2 inches up the tranny tunnel to about 1 1/2 inches from the door frame, up 1 1/2 inches on the firewall and then 1 1/2 inches away from the first cross member. If this turns out to be a success, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing one, I know some people have holes in their floors and why not get an exact fit replacement, instead of welding multiple pieces of metal. Just gaging interest so let me know guys. I’m not too sure how many of them I can get made though.

Thats a good idea, If I hadnt done both my cars already I’d get one. woulda made the job 10x easier.

Yeah exactly what I’m thinking, I realized it today, I’ll see how mine turn out, even if they’re the shape of the floor and you just need to slit them and hammer them into the curve shape to fit the fire wall and tranny it still makes work A LOT easier, and you can have a template of where to attack with the sawsall as well. If there is enough interest after I get mine, I might go into producing them.

Just throwing an idea out there -

someone with a junk car that has good floors should cut the section out, and then take it to a stamping place and see if they can replicate it.

Maybe someone with a JDM front clip? Floor would still be the same.

I’ve made a template of the floor out of aluminum foil, tape and cardboard, so I’ll see what I can do, I’ll let you guys know when I get it made up.

someone should do frame rails!

 already on top of that, once I get a template made of that I’ll see what I can do, depending on the amount of people interested I can figure out pricing too.

i think they already make frame rails, right? or is that oem?

Yeah Nissan did, but they are discontinued.

someone had oem rails up on the fs board.
im nt too sure who it was tho…

i’m in for the floor boards…
i would need the driver side, probly the passenger side too
going to hava work on it over the winter
keep us posted

i did make frame rails, out of stainless and we all know how that turned out hahaha but its the right idea

Yeah, the template is getting looked at tomorrow, I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

Courtesy Nissan and West Covina Nissan sell all oem metal. Any part. You could realistically build a brand new chassis in the $5g price range.

Yeah but why pay up to $200 for real OEM floors when ill sell them for $100, should have mine made up by tomorrow, let you guys know.

any idea how much that would cost… you would literally have to sell 1000’s to mitigate the cost and it would still be astronomical.

I worked at cambridge lexus factory for a while (I have seen and am familiar with the process), and uhm this solution is outside the realm of possibility

yeah stiky i wouldnt promise anything till u make sure it works out for yourself first

I was just putting out that if it does work for myself, I can go around and see how much it would be to replicate it, if it is not economically possible than I will not do it, but if it is affordable I will see what I can do. The person who was supposed to get mine does is really slow at doing so right now, still waiting.

so any progress on this ??? i could use something like this!? update please!

I got one made for me, but it wasnt the quality I expected, it needed about 8-9 hours of work to get to the proper shape, and for the cost of it, it is not worth it at all, as each piece costs about $100, then you add on the time you have the reshape the piece on top of the numerous test fits you need to do. It was just not worth it.
