Nissan b15 sentra ATF, Which?

What type of ATF should be used in a 2002 Nissan sentra SER.
Is it a bitch to change the filter? I saw something somewhere saying you need to drop the valvebody to change the filter. Sounds like bs to me, but you never know.

I searched Nissanforums.com and couldn’t find an answer so I put up a new post. This is a non Spec-V right? Cuz they only came in (shitty) 6 speed manuals.

Yea, its a regular SER, no spec V.
I posted on some b15 forums before, and no one seems to know. The owners manual lists some nissanmatic stuff, I’m assuming there is some kind of aftermarket equivalent.

Hows the jetta?

Jetta’s good, couple hundred miles to go before I’ll start doing anything strenuous to the clutch at all, but holds just fine at full throttle roll-on’s. No chatter or anything weird like that.

haha, no one has posted on the nissanforum either. Thanks though James.
I did some searching and heard that the nissan matic d is very similar to dexron III, but not exact.
I also read that Valvoline maxlife is compatible.
Haven’t really found a perfect match, everyone seems unsure.

Got one response…

Nice, i posted one too. Thanks

Its regular ATF…and the filter stares u in the face as soon as u pop off the tranny pan…u gotta pull it off

Oh, really?
Have you serviced one of these?

amsoil or mobil 1 atf, unless specified different IMO.

yea its basically the same tranny that was in my old maxima

Good we are making some progress, Ive looked up some filter kits and it lists a couple transmissions. Which auto is it? is there an id tag on it? where.
