Nissan Recalls 700,000 Altimas And Sentras
Monday November 26, 2007
Adding to an already lengthy list of automotive recalls in 2007, Nissan announced plans to bring back 700,000 Altimas and Sentras on Monday.
The recall is related to problems with an internal sensor that could potentially lead to engine stalling, according to a company spokesperson.
The move’s largely pre-emptive since there have been no injuries in connection with the issue, but concerns the problem could cause engines to simply stop running with no warning while the car is being driven at low speeds were enough to prompt the massive move.
Nissan says Altima and Sentra owners should take their cars to dealers to reprogram the electronic control module. The recall affects those models made in 2002, 2005 and 2006 equipped with a 2.5-litre engine.
