So I don’t want to blow up Trevor’s Facebook with 1,000 random friend requests, I won’t post a link here, but here it goes. The first 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R, to legally enter the country under the 25 year rule. For more information on the 25 year rule please read my post at MotoIQ. Congratulations to Trevor. He had all his ducks in a row, and had no hold ups. HS7, 3520-1, and paid the tariff.

I really dont know if I would want a right hand drive car here.

What are they going for? I am sure the price will be going up as more people in the US are going to be pursuing them.

Hemmings had a nice little article about cars that are now eligible:

Alfa Romeo SZ
Mercedes 190E evolution
Rallye Golf
20v Quattro
Lancia Delta Integrale
Maserati Shamal

Yes, please and thank you!

Cool stuff.

Just quickly searching other forums it seems you can get these fairly cheap and shipping is only 2-3k

MMMMM Lancia Delta Integrale…

They’re cheap in Canada as they’ve been there for a few years now. Who knows how the market will shape up though.

That Shamal looks kinda cool:

GTR’s are not legal till August. So if he brought one in the customs agent was not paying attention. It’s by date of manufacture, and GTR’s were not made till August '89. You can bring in regular R32’s though.

Delta’s have been legal since mid last year though.

Yup.

More Nissan domination.

Factory figures indicate that 369 Shamals were produced between 1989 and 1996.

Good luck finding parts! The big ass fenders remind me of the subaru 22b.

88-89 CRX. Im gonna get one. So you can get one from Canada and bring it here too Skylines that is?

I never knew about this rule. So I can import a 959? How did I not know this?

hrmmmmmmm…

Sure, now you just need a cool million bucks.

you would think that but clean GTR’s can be had for $10k all day long up here.

some SON guys back in the day bought a few GTR’s thinking they would increase in value… they didnt. they’re cheaper now than they were back then.

why not? I drove a RHD defender for alittle over a year… not a problem if you don’t eat fast food like a fat shit…

Paging Walker and Nick…

I should really buy my Uncle’s HF Integrale and have it imported.

I understand the history behind these cars but I really don’t think I would feel cool or even enjoy driving something so dated looking whether it be a GTR or whatever 25yrs old unless a Porsche.
