Nitrous cams?????

here is the situation. Todd got the motor in the chevelle. It runs and everything nice. we took it for a ride tonite. after we got it tuned. as of now the nitrous isnt hooked up. the cam is said to make power upto 5800rpms. the problem is the car starts to get flat at around 4500rpms. right now he has a 2400 holeshot converter, gears arnt in yet. the gears in the car now are like 230s or so. it shifts out of first at 55mph shifts out of second at 100mph. he has a 410 rearend ready but anyways. is this normal for a nitrous grind cam to be flat like that? pulls decent from 2400 to 4500 but then flatens out. he has 1.52 rockers, 1500-6500 rpm air intake and a 750 demon. the air mixture is set right. nice idle and everything. i think the timing as of now is set at 6. we know you need to retard the timing when spraying but for now should we advance it more for N/A? with nitrous cams are they set like that so when your spraying it pulls better.

any help would be appreciated

duuuuuuuuuuuude the motor has under 20 miles on it:rolleyes:

hey whore, this section is for serious posts. and the motor has like 12k on it. the cam is broken in and should pull with easy.

my fault you know everything

No NOS, I would total time at 37 degrees. Total timing is more useful, I used a 175 plate with 32 degrees total…250 plate with 30 total, and 400(Big Shot) with 25 total.

Also, since you have a 2400 stall, make sure the timing curve is in before 2400.

I had the best performance from circle track cams…tight centerline and big split in duration.

what he said!

I also need to check the valves, can this cause the motor to flatten out a higher RPM’s. Valve float?
