no mouse on puter

well i went to use my computer today and i have no frickin mouse.

oh its here in my hand but it isnt moving what so ever. its really pissin me off like majorly. it is really hard pushing the tab button to move threw everything. does anyone have a clue how to get my mouse to start working again.

its still plugged in and everythign. it lights up when the puter is turned on(optical) and it just doesnt register.

i tried to put my recovery disk in and it says “contact compac technical help” or something like that.

its a compac presario about 2-3 years old. anyone have any ideas??

sometimes they jsut go out ! mine did after 3-4 years of use. look for a back up ball mouse !!

i assume you tried to resart the computer after you made sure the wire was all the way in , right?

what ver of windows you using?
opticals and win 98 dont get along. will work for a few then just stop. POS
