Noob in the Electric city

Took the bike out for the first ride of the year today(brrrr)and stopped at Ronnies out on 20 for a fuel shut off valve and saw a Shift 518 card so I thought I’d check it out.

welcome to shift, what kind of bike do you have?

welcome… i like your avatar

Was that you the Kawi 250 I saw today?

Welcome!

I was tempted! Didn’t feel like re-hooking up my battery and seat and freezing my ass off though. Roads are still a little bit dirty…and with the snowfall coming going to get dirtier :(.

Thanks all,
and no that wasn’t me on the kawi, musta been some other dumb bastid who couldn’t figure out it was still cold out. What kind of car is Darth driving?Looks like something I saw on Top Gear but I’m not sure.
Thanks Murrdog, I’m a big fan of Max,BTW you like Mosins?Figured ya might being from Russia.
Here’s my ride,I also have a couple of old cars but they’re not quite road worthy at the moment.

I just couldn’t help it.Turns out it was well worth it,got my part ordered and Ronnies hooked me up with an inspection to boot!Clean bill of health and she’s ready to go as soon as the weather agrees.:clap

You talking about the mosin nagant? Im not actually from russia haha

murdogg is from a nasty canal

You are correct, Darth is driving something you’ve seen on Top Gear - Ariel Atom.

You crazy nut bags for riding anyway (if my bikes were in running order I would have been right behi…errr in front of you :tongue

and it’s funny you mention the Russian commend to Murddog as I make up a vast majority of the Russian population here.

Welcome! Yeah, a bit too cold and too dirty to ride. It will be Spring soon, so just hang tight.

Yeha yesterday I saw some dude on a black veee-star turn off central towards the honda dealer at the end of 155. WTF are you guys thinking?

You cant tell me it wasnt cold. Even with chapps over jeans the wind cuts into your legs I am sure. and even with my leather jacket its cold. my neck is exposed, I ride with 5050 thor boots and even then my shins are somewhat exposed to the air and get cold. Tires are cold, sand/salt in turns, people cant drive in rain/snow around here let alone think to look out for bikes in fucking february. It was warm enough to melt the snow so there must have been wet spots, so water/salt vapor will spray all over the bike.

big ol FUCK THAT in my book.

But yeah welcome to Shift!

Believe it or not I was quite comfortable, the main cold spot was my neck and chin as the wind comes around the windshield and blows right up into my face.Great in the summer, not so great at 30F.
The russian comment what based upon Murrdogs “location” and yes I mean Mosin Nagants,I have 3 and love them.
The Really sucky thing is that I had to trade bike handlebars for snowblower handles.:’(

welcome man!

haha i kinda figured, thats sweet though

welcome

Cool man fun is fun anyway you look at it so its all good.

hey trade those snowblower handles back in for a 1999 MXZ 600 handelbars I have for sale! lol

I’ve ridden in high 30’s back in November, if you have winter gloves and wear appropriate gear it is not bad at all; But once the snow falls with all the salt and shit on the road to me it is just not worth it.

I think 6 more weeks, I should be able to ride again. Just need to find a way to pay for all the stuff I’ll need for this riding season…:lol

Anyone need drafting work done?? I am very cheap…:lol

Yeah its just like riding a sled, go fast and freeze your balls off… if your not dressed for it.

On my KTM my cut off is 50F in the morning. I dont have a nice fairing or tank/plastic to tuck in behind!

take it your from Schenectady?

Welcome!
