Not asking for advice, Just sharing my encounter the the police today.....

Oh, so when they’re on duty a cell phone is not a distraction. Then when I’m working I can say I can use my cell while driving. Good to know.

So then citizens should be allowed to take a similar class to certify them as multi-taskers.

And 98% would fail.

she is stupid, and most likely a poor driver. she should be responsible, and realize that if she is incapable of talking on the phone while driving, she shouldn’t. where has personal responsibility for your own actions gone?

It pertains to them b/c who they are talking to or what they are talking about may not be appropriate to voice over the radio. Details on a case, accident, whatever.
Cops are also trained to be more aware of their surroundings than the average citizen. The general public are not, so deal with it.

if 82 in a 65 is a lead foot to you you’ve clearly never driven outside the 716 area code. anywhere else you wouldnt even get pulled over for that really…

lolz, u got that right. except i dont drive on the 400 very much, surprised you saw me there…

i normally speed thats why its annoying to be driving slow and get a ticket haaa

you guys make it out like im on here crying, i dont give a fuck, i have the money, i’ll pay the ticket. i’m just surprised 82 is even worthy of me being pulled over, anywhere else i wouldn’t catch a ticket for that. there’s a LOT more police presence here then anywhere else in terms of bullshit speeding tickets is all my point is.

i will continue to drive fast and if i get pulled over i will simply pay the fine, no big deal.

I’ll totally agree with this; hell, the highway speed limits out here are 65 in the city, and 75 outside. I cruise at 82-84 when I’m outside the city, and I’m normally getting passed.

I never said anything about being outside the 716 area code. Clearly NYS has a strict enforcement 55-65 speed zones. But YOU said NYS sucks b/c YOU got pulled over for 82 in a 65. That’s your fault for having a lead foot, not NYS’s lol

right, so I’ll pay it and move on, it’s not like i’m having an aneurysm over it.

i’m just saying NYS is strict over minor shit here which is the basis this thread was started on…82 is far from a lead foot in my car on the highway for better or worse, normally i feel like you’ll get passed doing 75 on the highway out here as it is. it’s a dumb ticket to me, that’s all. it’s not like i’m on here crying that i got 30 over and saying it’s not fair or anything.

LOL. Whenever we’d drive out to Wendover for a Sunday poker tourney, the average speed on I-80 between Tooele and the border was typically about 95-100

lol Texas rocks I remember having to go WOT a lot of times to hit a safe merging speed 85-90mph.

Also Texas did have the online ticket reduction courses for a longggg time tons of people used them after get tickets.

Everywhere else I lived seems like cops were busy with actual crimes and didn’t care about trying to rape people from everything possible when driving.

Exactly! Or once you get south of Provo/Happy Valley on the way to Vegas!

NY is one of the worst. The worst I’ve been in easily being Virgina. Fuck that state and it’s speed enforcement.

Great example:

Went I went to NC to get my GTO I remember crossing the Virginia border and immediately seeing 6 cars pulled over, right in a row. At first when I saw all the lights I thought it was a major accident or road block. Nope, pricks just set up about 10 cop cars right at the border and nail people one right after the other. Luckily I was warned ahead of time how much Virginia sucks and had slowed down to 5 over.

Every time I notice someone driving like shit here in Denver, it’s because they are on their cell phone. People here also have no fucking clue how to merge, or how to move over to let people merge.

I love both those routes, I remember doing 160 sustained on the way to Wendover and 120+ on the way to vegas for hoursssss.

You’re not going to convince me that because they’re police officers they have superpowers of concentration. If they get a call regarding something that shouldn’t go out over the radio, then they can pull into a parking lot like everyone else. Would they then be able to text as well under the same pretenses? I’ve watched police during firearm training; and besides not being world class marksmen, they had difficulty following simple directions, so it’s safe to say they’re not perfect at everything…and that’s OK. Stop making excuses because I’m sure if you pulled cell records randomly, they’re not all business.

LOL at cops are trained to multi task. This does not mean they are able to. I think they abuse the cell phone law.

If people dont want stuff transmitted over the radio, dont call the police.

The only time I can complain for being pulled over was a few yrs ago on Kenmore while pulling out of Jubilee…Tonawanda cop drove by, pulled a U and stopped me…I had no idea why but he told me because I wasnt wearing my “Seatbelt”…BS, first thing I do is click it when I get in my car…The fucker wouldnt listen and ofcourse it got dropped to a $50 fine when I went to court…I CANT STAND TONAWANDA cops…Another time same thing happened but with an Amherst cop who simply told me “Your shirt is same color as your seatbelt, sorry man have a nice day”…AMHERST rules, even if they pull you over for stupid shit.

try driving in Washington state, I got stopped coming down a hill, 63 in a 60. The cop gave me shit for having my V1, and said, “heh, those don’t work too good, I still got ya” and when I responded, I didn’t even think I was speeding so I didn’t slow… then his response is “the speed limit is 60, not 63”

I guess I’m pretty liberal on speed limits, coming from living in the desert, where I-8 is 75mph, and AZ DPS (troopers) won’t stop you unless you are doing 90+ or it’s a construction zone.
Personally, if there is no traffic and you’re on the 219 at night, doing 80-90 in a 65… really? Does it matter if you hit that deer doing 65 or 85? I mean, rules are rules…but I think driving slow in the left lane is much more dangerious then doing 15 over in a vehicle that is MADE to travel at 150+mph.

Back 2 summers ago when I got in my first accident (some 85ish year old gentlemen pulled out in front of me, then decided to stop in the middle of the road)… it was probably as enjoyable as an accident can get, lol.

It was OP Cops @ milestrip/california road.
I think 4 showed up, It was the one and only day I ever had left my license at home in my life. I had to leave it at my apartment for the girlfriend because I was getting my cable turned on… and they needed proof that it was me. Of course I didn’t have my insurance with me, or a valid registration. So the cop was asking me how do they know that I’m actually who I say I am? I told him I’ll tell him whatever he needs to know to prove who I am, and he’s like nahhh don’t worry about it. On the writeup the declared it was the old farts fault, the guy even let me sit in the back of a cop car as it was 90+ out that day and I was wearing all heavy black clothing because of my job.

I even said… “heyyy it’s the first time I’ve been in the back of one of these, this is cool!!!”
Which the cop in the car with me gave me a pretty funny look… then went back to playing on his laptop.
But it was nice when all was said and done compared to stories I have heard.
Bout 2 weeks later I got my check for like 1k more than my cars KBB value was + towing…
and then I bought my car back for $155 or something around there… and stripped everything and scrapped the frame (got about $110 from scrap)…
Bought the same car, and now I have a spare of everything ;]

Sorry, long… and I bet everyone will skip over it, but it’s late and I’m hyped on caffinee!

so now laws are subject to the driver and or car? I dont want soccor mom’s who have trouble with 30mph, going 80. no thank you.
