Not the best way to use plywood to protect your windows / property from a hurricane

supposedly done this way because its easier to work inside in the air conditioning then outside in the heat

ROFLMAO

oh god…

OMG! LOLs

what about the windows up top?

its probably not even for the storm, just doing some remodeling or something

actualy, its loupots book store, 335 University Dr, College Station, TX

its right next to texas A&M University

heres a smaller image of the store, but it shows the whole building

no i saw this on the news too, alot of places were doing this. I would think to keep lootin scumbags out in the events such as New orleans.

newsflash its just as easy to kick in plywood no matter what side teh window is on…

ur right that is priceless

Maybe it’s so that the plywood that is scarce around there about this time doesn’t get stolen?

X…

well, if they actualy built a wall with 2x4’s 16 inches on center, they did diagnal braces to the floor which are then nailed to studs that are lag bolted to the concrete slab, it wouldnt be all that easy to kick in anymore …

arent most windows blown OUT during a hurricane due to extremely low pressure outside and high pressure inside? I thought i heard that somewhere…

yea, but at the same time alot are broken by shit flying around at 150 mph … but usualy the idea is to put the plywood on the outside to protect against both pressure changes AND debris

wrong assumptions by all.

Real reason is here
