02 R6
Just got it back from the paint booth. Gloss black. DB screen. Pazzo levers, FMF slip on(getting rid of that), New Pilot Powers front and rear.

Just picked the bike up a few months back and really havent touched it. Started playing with it in the past 2 weeks and started ordering some shit for it.

that’s gotta suck… goin from a fast liter bike to an old 600. how do you justify the change? where are you living now btw?

We need to stop making these threads, it’s only January and I’m dying to get out already.

QFT

ya it sucks. I sold the 1000 instead of shipping it back to NY. Was gonna pick up a ZX10 or a 1000rr but decided to play with my money elsewhere. The deal on the R6 was too good to turn away and picked it up cheap. Im most likely gonna ride it for the beginning of the year and see what else I can get myself into.

and my biggest issue with the switch, other than the power decrease is going to a carbed bike from fuel injected. Like I said, Im going to ride it in the spring and see about going to a Kawi.

Id still go back to riding a 600, I loved my 636, however, an older carbed bike, yea, that would really bug me. Especially if the suspension felt as sloppy as most of my friends old carbed bikes do.

You cant beat a cold start with an fi bike either, tuning is a lot easier, etc etc.

well either way we are gonna have to meet up when the weather warms up and get some riding in. Carbed bike or not:highfive:

sounds good to me. Where in florida did you live when you were down there? whyd you move back?

I was in Leesburg in Lake County. About 30 minutes north of Orlando, 45 minutes west of Daytona. I moved back last xmas and came back to work for my faily. Big mistake.

Riding down there was great. You could ride year round. Winter months were brutal in the morning to ride but by 10 or 11am it was comfortable. Here I have to stare at my bike for 5 f’n months. its bullshit

first bike; 94 ninja 600 (got it when I was 17, right after taking the MSF)

only mods were 4-1 header, (had dual exhaust stock) yoshi exhaust, undertail, and flush mounts. note the ubrf sticker lol

next I had a 99 r6 track bike, but I don’t think I have any pictures of it anymore. WERA revamped their site a few years back, too, so I never found the ad when I sold it. Had the best fitting race plastics I’ve encountered. daytona steering damper, yoshi pipe, i forget what kind of rearsets. gp shift. k&n drop in. full sliders. probably more I can’t remember.

after that I had an 01 r6. When I got it;

needed forks, clips, rearsets, wheels, seats, etc.

i think i ran supercorsas on there, micron pipe i think. vortex rearsets, gp shift, hyperpro steering damper, full set of sliders, etc.

my most recent (and favorite): 06 636. Short wheelbase felt soo different. handled so nicely, and more power than any 600 I had ridden. It was also nice to get out of carbs and into fuel injection. I don’t see myself getting a sportbike with carbs ever again.
here it was when I bought it

good to go:

armor bodies bodywork,(still have for sale) vortex adjustable rearsets, custom gp shift, leo vince titanium exhaust (still have for sale) servo fix, frame, swingarm and bar end sliders, etc.

sadly I sold it a few months ago. When I have a more steady job and weekends off I’ll get another one. Still have all my gear, pit bull stands, etc. Just don’t have the time to do trackdays when I’m working at urban saturdays and coaching sundays.

636 wins again.

I always saw that in front of the shop (if its the one I’m thinking of). I figured it couldn’t be steve’s, he bought an e92 without getting a 335i :banghead:

I’m leaning more towards kawi now willy after our talk…lol

After riding almost every modern bike out there, Kawi is leaps and bounds ahead…atleast thats how I feel. Every rider prefers a different feel for there bikes but I def think Kawis where its at

I’ve ridden a few hondas and I enjoy the feel of it over my current gxxr. I’ve been on a 636 but for no more than 5 miles so I didn’t get the best feel.

right now its between a 600rr or a 636. It will most likely boil down to what I find at a decent price, in decent shape.

lol. jons 848 isnt there too often during the summer. hes a bitch and barely rode this season. :-p

maxwell, do it up… pick up an 06 with existing warranty on it. dooo it.

willy, keep an eye out for a 636 or zx10. might have to get rid of the yamaha before the season even starts:eekdance:

I still havent ridden the current model 600rr, but If you’re talking 03-06, my opinion is that the 636 is a better bike, and id be willing to bet there are 600rr owners on here that would agree.

paulo?
ryan?

I don’t have too much experience on 636’s, but from what I have ridden, I like the feel of the 600rr more. The 636 has a much broader powerband though.
