there’s been times where i’ve been pulled over and the cop is so happy I pulled over, he just checks out my bike, runs my plate and lets me on my way…
there are other times, though, where i’ve been pulled over and i’ve gotten the book thrown at me, every ticket he/she could give me, they give me.
100mph+ on the thruway and the copper is sitting in the median.
edit: and from a learning experience… if you’re in a group, and one guy gets pulled over, don’t even THINK about running, because they WILL force it out of your buddy. trust me
I’ve been lucky and theyve always been decent to me…
but along those lines, not to mention strength in numbers and if your numbers are decent legal people… you should be fine… just dont ride with “tough” guys.
FYI - There is the Buffalo/Niagara Thunder Bike rally at McKinley Mall this weekend. I was there last night and they have a group of stunters doing their tricks etc. all day long. Lots of vendors geared towards the Harley crowd. If you arfe bored, come on out. I’ll most likely be by the Cesar Insurance booth selling T-Shirts.
FTP! I can’t complain. Radar said 90mph or something when we got pulled over.
Tow trucks scare me now. Thoughts that went through my head when I seen lights : I could run and get away, but I think TMAN knows my last name… I could pull over, appologize to the officer and hopefully he will let us go. And my last thought was I’ll go if Tim goes, but we lose as a team. hahaaaa FML
Anyone that drives a car is a perfectly safe driver. I never get cut off by someone talking/texting on their phone, or not paying attention in general. Car drivers NEVER speed, not even 1mph over the speed limit, VERY SAFE. They never run red lights, they never swerve in and out of traffic. They are always very cautious. Bikers on the other hand are ALWAYS unsafe, they ALWAYS speed, and they ALWAYS ride like idiots.
Don’t you know son, all these madddd fast nukkas cant be stopped. I’d like to see most of these people run from the cops that dont usually break 70 mph and slowing down to 45-50 for the turns…
You can pay my tickets pal. Sure I have had luck when I have been pulled over and was let off with no tickets. I should have had a pile that day. But Cops have cracked down a lot this year. I am not saying I go look for a cop to chase me.
Seems a bit sarcastic… I dont know how this ties into a question i asked that wasn’t rhetorical. And most of those saying they’re going to run… from what i’ve seen you wouldn’t get far.
Im glad Cops are cracking down and they should. And yes they hassle Sportbikes more and they should. I can count a handful of people that i know riding without a permit/licence/inspection/registration/insurance. And it only tends to be sportbikes that you can say that about. Not saying the Cops are right 100% of the time and we all know there are pricks out there. But, dont say “I run from the cops and ill do it again” and then sound surprised to LEO’s cracking down more.
Will, best advice ive seen in a long time. Being respectful will go a long way.
First, my statement was not directed towards you, and had nothing to do with your question. Second, I would never run from the cops. My job requires me to have a Top Secret Clearance, and I would not jeapordize my career for a $200 ticket.
