What’s the harm in leaving the old one as an OPTION? You like the new one, you want to promote the new one, great. Some of us do not. I’m sure you have a backup of it. It can’t be that difficult? Not giving small concessions like that gives off an “I don’t give a fuck about my users unless they pay for ads” vibe.
And what’s wrong with being like every other site and putting the ads on the top and bottom, instead of right in the middle of everything? Replace the giant panoramic thing with an Nyspeed logo and two banners. Then put two banners on the bottom. Done.
the nazi ad-whore reference was to a site I used to go to, and I am hoping nyspeed doesn’t become. It just appears that all of the changes as a whole are pointing in that direction.
Albeit necessary to control the growing population all the extra rules seem overwhelming at times. I have always seen nyspeed as a place that noobs get flammed hard for being idiots and jokes/ot were welcome everywhere. its not like that anymore…

I don’t see why the old version cant be an option, I am playing devils advocate here, especially with the argument that it will cause unneeded attention at work. I am not “supposed” to look at any non-work sites at work so it doesn’t matter what it looks like, I will go on anyway (interpretation of corporate policy ftw. lol)
the idea of keeping the background stable and having the forum scroll over top of that would be a brain killer. I have seen web pages like that and its awful
The only issue I had was how much the banner stuck out when browsing page to page. But the work skin is sweet. :tup:
Keep up the good work guys. What people truly aren’t appreciating is that we have a group of people that really care about building this place in a professional manner that will result in benefits to the users.
couldn’t you have just made a poll for who was against or for the skin? I just read through 6 pages of nonsense just to figure out if I was the only person who liked it or not.
The NYSpeed Logo is just about the only thing I like that’s different. The colors are straight up boring, even cheap looking - if that’s possible. I prefer the old version better. In fact, I know there’s a way in vBulliten to allow users to choose their template. Could you just incorporate that somehow, so we could at least have the option to go back?
Fixed. Don’t kid yourself, if they don’t make it an option it’s because the new management wants to make a profit above all, whereas the old wanted to build the community, and they have more to gain by you being stuck with this one.
With that, I’m done in here. Either they’ll prove me wrong and give us the old as an option, or they won’t.
The old one was very easy on the eyes. The colors weren’t too dramatic and didn’t make me want to stop reading.
This is a forum. Reading is pretty important.
These colors are horrible. Blue was the way to go. Keep the format, images, etc… but at least bring back the light changes in color rather than DARK to LIGHT to DARK. You’re hurting me head.
And why can’t you add in a choice for the old one? Keep this POS default for all users and give us the choice! Or, with the way this forum is actually designed is that literally not an option?
I like that you immediately think that this is for a profit. I wish you could only begin to imagine what everything that Josh and Bing have done in this community costs. There is no such thing as a profit at this point so get that idea out of your head. Money that is raised by advertisers is and has been reinvested into the community. IE Track Days, BBQ’s, Misc. Events etc…
Please take your Blinders off before posting, or maybe come out to an event and see what we are actually all about.
