o2 sensor simulator

Hi does anyone know where I can get an o2 sensor simulator for my 2002 spec v? I just installed my headers in about a month ago and that annoying ses light showed up right away. I know of a few websites where I can order it online but I wanted to see if anyone knows where I can get in Calgary, that way I don’t have to pay for shipping and other costs.

mossy performance sells them, hopefully this helps. It’s not in Calgary and I havent’ seen any place here sell them either.

Don’t bother. Go onto the VBoard and search for ghetto-sim 3000. They’re made by a guy named graymulligan.

What it is is a little brass fitting that screws into the o2 sensor housing, and then the o2 sensor gets screwed into the brass fitting. It raises the o2 sesnsor out of exhaust stream, making the computer think that the exhaust has been cleaned by the cat. You need two of them, one for each of the last 2 o2 sensors - they should cost about $10 USD each. I’ve had mine since I intalled the header in the spring and haven’t gotten 1 SES light because of it.

sorry to sound dumb but what will the o2 sim do exactly?

A Ghetto Sim does nothing but take the o2 Sensor out of the Exhaust Stream so it’s not getting blasted by that wonderful unfiltered exhaust and the 02 sensors don’t send a code to the ECU saying “whoa we’re getting smoked out down here”
An o2 sim wires into the o2 sensor on the precat (mid pipe for 04+) or the second o2 sensor on the header (02-03) and it sends a code to the ECU saying that everything is running just how it should. They both do the same thing but y spend like $50 Canadian on a Sim when you can buy a Ghetto Sim for sooo much cheaper.

If it’s $10US wouldn’t it be about the same for the o2 sensor simulator? Cause I found these websites that have them for $25US + $5 or $8 shipping. If the ghetto sim comes out to be cheaper then I think I’ll just go with that. Here’s the websites with the simulators. Let me know what you guys think.

The main difference for me was that you have to cut the wires going to the o2 sensor and wire the simulator in place. The ghetto-sim works just as well, is cheaper, and doesn’t modify any of the stock wiring or require any complicated install. You just need a 22MM crescent wrench (which I have and you could borrow. :D).
