obd2 compliant '95 inspection question

im looking at picking up a shell. its a 95, but has the obd2 stuff in it. if i take it to get inspected, do they still plug into the diagnostic port? or will it just be the regular exhaust/brakes/safety checks?
im pretty sure its just 96 and up, but id like to make sure.

thanks,
marc

NOPE…they only do 96 or newer…ur only required for safety and the visual emissions like ur CAT…just make sure the CEL light is off just incase they decide to be pricks…but no ur not legally bound to have teh OBDII test…

great news, thanks! the cel will be no problem with the standalone.
looks like my car will finally be legal to drive! when its actually done that is…

car details pleeease

i am guessing that it is a 95 s14 shell and he is swapping whatever is in his 96 s14 car into it. RB or SR or whatever.

yeah, close enough. keepin the ka but no more diagnostic port and missing a bunch of parts.

soooo then, anyone need an s14 chassis for real cheap?

how cheap and more info

95 chassis with ~175k on it. comes with all painted body panels (good shape), suspension, glass (windshield may have some damage). no interior or driveline. so if you are looking for a track car, this would be perfect.

its in ohio. if you can find a way to get down there and grab it with me, ill give it to you for $250/obo.

if anyone has carfax, would you mind shooting me a PM?

thanks,
marc
