Does anyone know of a place that I can get a small amount of stainless steel copper plated. For look wise not performance.
I have tried googling but most places all want large quantities and I only have to small stainless steel goalie helmet cages. I found a dealer the sells copper cages for their helmets and emailed them but they will not divulge how or who the get it done by since it is not one of their helmets and their cage is not compatible with my helmet and my helmets are much better quality than theirs.
I am expecteing a cost of around $200 a cage.
Also looking into powder coating but so far everything I have seen doesn’t come out looking right. I specifically want high polished copper (think copper colored chrome). I have also been told powder coat will not hold up to the abuse a goalie helmet sees.
Thanks Steve. I beleive for stainless it is tough and requires acid baths not the more standard electroplating. But also to top that off copper plating is susppposedly usually one of the first steps in any chrome plating job as most places use it for evening out the surface of the original metal before the nickel plating and then the chrome.
Alot of the places that I called mainly used it for making fasteners conductive and so on and so forth.
do you have an old cage i can coat while coating something else, and you can use it for a couple games? im really interested to see how it will hold up if at all. i would obv do it for free in a color that we have in stock
I’ll have a spare cage when my new helemt gets here in january which is the cage i want to get it done correctly on. Then my current helmet will become a back up and they both share the same cage
Lefts gold, rights your copper color. I don’t think your ever gunna get the bling color your looking for with powder but we can still do the old one in any color. I hit them together pretty hard with no real damage
