Ruff mis-manages talent and Reiger doesn’t accomodate players like he should by getting/keeping complimentary players to produce results. This is a prime example.
With the exception of MAYBE Vanek, none of these guys would be a top 6 forward on any other team with a winning record. They’d also make half as much as they are making.
Connolly makes $4.5 million, as does Pominville. Roy makes $3.5 million.
McKee is the man, hes good for about 5 blocks a game, and isnt an abortion with the puck like Gill and Scuderi were. He is injured right now though.

Im surprised there’s no mention of the Miller save on Brindamour, I hate the sabres and I got excited for that. That was awesome. Turning point of the game. That and Leighton sucks balls ha.
Gill wasn’t too bad with Boston, now he’s a pylon and costs the habs games. The Miller save on that baboon looking guy was epic. Reminds me of the 06-07 Miller. Also I think it got the Sabes back in the game. There is no way that after that save, you can lose the game for your goalie against the worst team in the league.
On the other hand am I the only one who kinda feels sorry for the canes. I mean 5 goals in the 3rd period…2 NIGHTS IN A ROW?!?
Hes not a pylon, hes good in his own end. he is just slow so he loses a lot of races to the puck, and doesn’t move it well to begin with. hes great on the PK and one of the better (top 10-15 if not better, shut down D in the league)
The hurricanes are without Ward, and I think they’re still emotionally bruised from the pens slapping them around in the ECF.
Been watching Max all year because I knew he was going to be great as soon as he went anywhere else and got out of Lindy Ruff’s dog house. Sure enough, you put him on a line with anyone other than Peters and Mair and the kid gets some confidence back and plays like the all star he was when he started here. 24 points in 23 games. The Sabres have played 23 games too, and the most points is Timmy C with 21.
Game is on Versus tonight. I am very disappointed that DirecTV hasn’t gotten it back yet. Going to the NHL Center Ice selection will only yield a “This is Blacked Out in your area.” message. Why the hell do I even have NHL Center Ice if (1) I get blacked out on all of the HD feeds for the away games for my home team. (2) It won’t let me watch any additional games in HD besides other teams… which I could give two shits about. I’m sure people in Pittsburgh, Washington, North Carolina, California and Kentucky can watch all of the Sabres games in HD, but I get them all blacked out!
I have to go watch on my parents non-HD TV… I am not happy.

Strange… they gave me NHL Center Ice for free and I don’t get any additional extras. I can’t watch away feeds in HD for our home games due to MSG “Having exclusive rights” and games on Versus aren’t put up on RSN or NHLN for Buffalo games! So… umm… yea. Do I call back again and say “Your free NHL Center Ice B.S. was useless to me and everyone else in Buffalo. Now what?”
agreed. I always knew he would be the old max, maybe even better than he has ever been on a different team. Glad to see him succeeding even tho I still wish it was on our team.
Afinogenov is Geoff Sanderson all over again. 30+ goal scorer everywhere else, comes here and gets dumped on the 4th line with Rob Ray for 3 years by Ruff and does nothing, then goes to an expansion team and scores 30+ goals again for several years.
Ruff has his “boys”. I can’t figure out why Pomonville is always on the power play, he fucking blows. Kotalik was a way better point man on the power play than Pominville will ever be.
Yet Pomonville is out there every power play, like he’s a fucking 40 goal scorer.
By the way, if you’re bored, NHL.com lets you watch every goal a player has scored and he’s had a ton of highlight worthy ones this season for Atlanta.
