Putting Afinigenov onto a slow line didn’t help him. He was outplaying the others. If he had two other fast guys that had similar talent I could see him being incredible. Ilya and him will be interesting to watch. Good for him to hopefully have a chance to show his skills. I just hope he doesn’t show them while playing against us… 
Ive always liked max to an extent, the 06-07 season before he broke his wrist when he had 20 something goals was when he was shining. Then when he came back finally he wasnt the same and the team wasnt either. We had lost some of our most talented faster players that he was compatible playing with. I truly believe him on the right line with speed and players similar to him he will dominate.
The sabres arent good, they havent been, they traded away enough players to make a better team, thats besides the point.

Biron will never find a stable home. He’s a great #2 goalie to have. He just commands too much of a salary to make him worthwhile.
1.4million is way to little, and thats what the islanders pay him, hes a 910 - 915 (sv %) goalie, which is better than what half the league starts
I’m impressed that he has NEVER played for a good club, but still puts up the numbers he does, hes a locker room asset, and a great talent, thats why I’m a fan.
miller is a great goaltender. but i understand that a lot of people who don’t really understand hockey blame him when they don’t understand how a play unfolds, so I don’t get mad.
biron is a good goaltender. I like biron. I would much rather have him instead of lalime (i’d rather have tellqvist on backup actually). and he could be a low level starting goaltender, or a great backup. but he doesn’t want to be a backup. so he will remain striving to be a low level starter. his recoveries waste time and he is often found out of position. i have more in depth critiques of him that I won’t go into at this time
in regards to the prior argument; one way I can relate what I feel is the difference between north american and russion players; a good example is going into the corner or something. NA players look up as they’re going into the corner, determine where everyone is. Come into the corner at an angle to maintain momentum (and not get laid out flat). look up again, and since they knew where people were before they now have an idea of their direction and pace, so they can time a pass to make a play.
russians also skate into the corner at an angle (noone wants to get laid out) but they get the puck, use their quick hands and dodgy skating ability to get themselves out of trouble, then go make a play
that may not be the best articulated explanation, but it should give somewhat of an idea of my opinion

when miller was out with that ankle injury I think we all saw how much of a difference he makes.
