I like the idea of bringing up Gerbe to maybe help on the non-existent power play, I just don’t see why you take Torres out to do it. He’s got 2 assists and has looked pretty good the last two games. You have Mair, who as usual has no points, and I don’t think anyone can argue that he’s been more physical than Torres.
This would not even be a series if the Sabres had some special teams. But it’s so lopsided that it’s allowed Boston to take this series lead. I just don’t understand what is so difficult about getting pucks to the net. It could be that we’re not hungry enough around the net for rebounds that makes our point men so reluctant to shoot. I just don’t get it though, if they just kept it simple they would score on the PP. Rask is playing well, but we’re making him look like a Vezina candidate.
MAIR!!! There’s your answer fellas. It seems like they respond when we call them out
and there’s GRIER!!! WHOOOOOOO!!
Its funny that out bottom 6 forwards are scoring all the goals and our top 6 are nowhere to be found except pominville and ennis.
so does this prove that darcy cant make trades? and that its time for him to go.
torres is worth about as much as a box of tim bits.
Do or die once again tonight. Vanek is back in, Stafford is benched. Let’s Go Sabres!!!
Stafford showed a hell of a lot more than some of the other forwards IMO…wrong choice
I thought he was trying to get to fancy with alot of passes.I didnt think he would be benched though
What a huge disappointment. You can’t win playoff games with sloppy defensive plays like the 3rd period had. Granted, the Sabres probably wouldn’t have scored both of their 3rd period goals without the sense of urgency they needed. Anyways, it would be awesome to see Montreal take Washington out and then have the bottom 3 seeds advance to the second round. That’s something you just don’t see very often.
Dear East…stop fucking up my bracket.
Connoly can go
Pominville can leave
I like Portland.
How long till we hear the same old line from the front office about how they like the core of this team and think they can win with them?
its over
Fixed
Zero goals on the power play as well as no wins on the road in this series all lead to a big fail. Honestly, I’m glad they lost so that we don’t have to suffer another horrible series of unprofessional, waiting until the last minute and very sloppy “hockey”.
I just think we have such an awesome team and Ryan Miller doesn’t belong on a team that doesn’t want to win anything as much as he does. It’s a shame that we have such awesome talent on this team and they let it go to shit because they can’t figure out how to play aggressive other than the moments that they are backed into a corner.
Thanks again for another unsuccessful season Sabres, you led us to believe you had what it takes to make it in the playoffs and yet again let us down. Get the golf clubs out and hope that next year you are lucky enough to half as good a season as you did this year. -Another pissed off Sabres fan
Anyone willing to admit that when your team wins the NE Division then goes 0-18 on the power play while getting bounced in the first round that maybe it’s time to think about a coaching change? Or are you still drinking the Ruff cool-aid?
Boston had better scoring chances on our power plays than we did. If you want to keep Ruff we need to petition the league to add an NFL style “we’re gonna go ahead and decline that penalty” option.
don’t worry… every losing year will just make it that much more sweeter when they finally win
well you know that is not going to happen while we have the current owner, i just hope something is done in the off season but i highly doubt it
Another year, same old story. Power play was TERRIBLE, yet again. Actually, it was the worst I’ve ever seen it. It got to the point where I dreaded them getting power play opportunities because they played worse 5-on-4 then they did even strength. And they STILL could not win one-on-one battles in any spot on the ice.
Our best lines were our 3rd and 4th lines. They seemed to get the concept of playoff hockey.
