Day one was awesome. I’m navigating for tracker 1, which means my driver and I follow behind all of the competitors through certain stages we’re assigned, and account for any mechanical breakdowns or offs. In other words… I’m responsible for disqualifying any vehicles I feel cannot limp to the end of the stage. AND we get to run the stage as fast as we want, so long as we are ready to stop for any down vehicles. AND we’ve been given these special passes that allow us and our vehicle into any section of the rally for any reason, including spectating from hot zones and non-spectator areas. Pretty f’ing sweet.
I also met and chatted with Natalie Richard and Chrissie Beavis, two of the several female co-drivers. Really trying to get my foot in the door to start doing navigating more seriously.

Well this weekend they are. There is a dealership that has a suubaru in their logo that sells used cars but for the most part all the scoobys in town are here for the rally… and why are you back in buffalo? the best racing is taking place today.
