Whats the difference between the Black version and the other?
ok i got the black edition of the game and it has some extras like the 67 maro SS. does anyone know how to get that car? like is there something i am missing?
it says i can race it right outta the box on the back cover?

i think i’m on #12 or something on the blacklist, i played for a little while today.
the handling is somewhere between arcade style and the “actual physics at work” gaming experience of GT4 or Forza (enough to be fun, not so much that it’s like work). graphics, not so impressive overall on the console version. i think that SRS may have looked better graphically.
VERY intricate race modes though, and the revival of checkpoint style racing as well as the addition of things like photo radar tickets, etc. also relatively realistic upgrade costs (compared to other games anyway) come in the the positive side of the list.
one of the bummers is the absence of a definitive “pink slip” handover. you only have a chance of winning their ride after you have defeated them (66% if you only choose the chance cards). so far i’ve managed to grab all but one…
overall i’m impressed though, i’ll probably play it again a little later. i have ~100+ xbox games and i usually give them about five minute to “wow” me before they end up stashed away in the flipbook – this one has passed the test though.
whats this chance card? i have gotten to 14 on the list so far(just started today) and i have not taken a car from anyone yet
i’m not sure if this is only on the console version or not but… on the xbox after you beat the rivals on the blacklist you get two “markers” or whatever they call them.
the screen looks like this sort of: [?] [?] [?] [&] [$] [@]
the & $ and @ are definitive prizes like upgrades, money, whatever.
the three ? are chance items that can be get ‘favor’ cards to get you out of jail, extra marks to use for impounds, or also the vehicle of the former rival.
i squeaked out a win against the girl in the rx8 and didn’t pick the right chance card… fucking gay. the alternative is to save before you start the race and then reload and beat them again for another 66% chance at winning it but i didn’t feel like doing it again… i wanted that car… damn it…
yeah i just beat that girl too, ive been choosing all chance cards and havent gotten a single car yet, arrrgghhhh
btw anyone else notice the extra starting $$ from having nfs underground 2?
i saw a “thank you” message when i started up and i think i got and extra 10k to start off with. :shrug: i had 40k to start.
WHAT? i have underground 2 on my HD but no game saves, aarrggghhh
