While I thought Price wasnât going to be ready for the playoffs, he definitely hasnât been a bust like a lot of you are making him seem. He wasnât pulled for sucking last night, he was pulled because the team in front of him needed a fire lit under their asses. The same goes for the people saying Kipper sucked because he got pulled in the SJ series. I thought he actually made some pretty amazing saves.
Before this series started I was all-in for Montreal winning. But now Iâm really liking the idea of a Pittsburgh-Philly Conference Final. Iâve already adopted Pitts as my team for the rest of the playoffs, so Iâm just going to root for the most exciting potential series.
^ While I didnât watch the game I saw the highlights and that first goal Price let in was horrible. 2nd wasnât much better.
I donât even think they would need to play Huet. Just having him there takes so much weight off the shoulders of your rookie. No longer is the rookie thinking âok, itâs up to me or this team that everyone expects to be at least in the eastern finals and likely for the cup finals is going to loseâ.
The kid is a GREAT goalie, and itâs likely he will only get better. But Iâm pretty much 100% certain this was too much pressure for him.
Montreal is a lot like the Sabres. When theyâve got great goaltending they take chances on offense and more than not capitalize on them. As soon as the goaltending gets suspect the teams style of play is all screwed up.

So Phillyâs up 2-1, big deal. I still think Montreal should win this series.

did you watch the 2nd goal from his view? it clearly changes direction off of the defensemanâs leg, not much to do on that one. i dunno why your so set on proving your point about price to everyone

He was screened on the 1st goal and the 2nd goal was a deflected shot like 8 feet (Harry Neale) in front of him. Not trying to make excuses for him, but they werenât exactly soft goals. Montrealâs problem seems mirrored to Buffaloâs issues in the 06-07 playoffs. Theyâve had way too many turnovers that are just killing them. Hitting 2 or 3 posts last night didnât help them much either.

Iâm guessing that Rangers and Pitts split 1-1 at MSG, then Pitts finished them off at home in game 5.

that would be nice because i hate montreal more than any team in the nhl, but philly i hate as well id love to see the canadiens get rocked but not by philly.I hope philly gets demolished then see the penguins have a field day with the canadiens.

Iâm not so sure that Dallas will beat Detroit. As of right now Turco >>>>>> Osgood and Hasek, but Detroit is like an all-star team with better than average goaltending. I would love love love to see The Burgh against the Wings; that series would be flipping amazing.
