Alright I think I have everything sorted in that first post (finally) and the registration is active in the ‘Marketplace’ tab at the top of the forum.
Keep in mind that you can drift without paying for food / drinks, and you can eat without paying for drifting. But if you want to do BOTH you’ll need to add BOTH drifting & food items in the ‘Marketplace’ to your cart. If you decide later that you want to add one or the other you can do that too.
Any of you guys who want to do axis spins, rolling burnouts etc. should sign up for the drifting portion too. None of that’s going to be happening in the parking lot.
Yeah, we know the price isn’t going to be impressive to the US guys. You’re used to drifting for free or nearly free.
But considering the Canadian guys pay what, $120 to drift Shannonville? And that doesn’t include food & drinks. This is half the price ($60 to drift) with a shorter drive for most people. Still cheaper if you want lunch too.
But that is what we’re considering for the drift portion. Initiation into the bank, then slow it down for the right hand turn into the inner oval, flip it through there, drag it all the way out and rub your rear bumper on the outer wall by the stands if you’re a badass, then a quick blast down the straight and shutdown as you head down the drag straight. Cool down will be done on the access retaining roads as you drive back to grid.
Obviously we’re open to input, that is what we’ve talked about. So let us know what you think.
I’ll be back in town for this, maybe with some LS1 power to have some fun with… but either way I’ll be there. I’m happy to help instruct some of the new guys, if you want to try and drift this will be a GREAT time to learn. Cheap, and tons of seat time. The outer bank is NOT mandatory to drift, if you do not feel confident, just hit the inner section and work at it, at YOUR skill level.
The bottom portion will definitely be blocked (small red line) and part of the wall will remain along the drag strip. I can’t remember how far down it will still go. We’re looking at something like this:

We can use the dragstrip for staging if that would work better.
Also, the berricades are large foam blocks (not concrete) like in this picture below from the last time we went there. You’ll still take damage if you hit them, just not as much:
i plan to have another 50+ whp in the Kouki for this event… will be on track if so… and even if i havent gotten to it yet i’ll still be out there with it, just not goign as quickly that’s all
