Oh noooo...another watch thread...

Ok, so I’ve been obsessed with crazy, high-end watches lately. I’m not sure if it’s the jewelry aspect of them, the mechanical aspect of them or a mix of both. This really has my attention at the moment:

$275,000 is a little steep though.

Any comments or insight would be greatly appreciated as well as names of other ultra-complicated timepieces.

That watch
is fucking
AMAZING.

I’ve posted that video before.

Heres everything you need to know about it.

you posted part 1 TWICE mike…look at the LINKS!

Part 3

Check out mechanical repeaters. Ultra awesome and rare complication.

Sorry for the repost then, that minute repeater is pretty effin sweet. I’m not sure how much I would like a watch that chimed though.

It only chimes when you want it to. Originally, the repeater was designed so that you could tell what time it was in the dark. Before artificial lights.

That does make sense, very cool feature.

I posted it twice because its VERY IMPORTANT. ASS.

Repeaters and retrograding minute/hour/second functions are the coolest things to me. I’m not super impressed with tb’s.

Agreed, although the Gyrotourbillon it pretty cool as well as the Zenith Zero-G watches. Also, the Girrard Perregaux 1945 series has a watch with a built in slot machine that actually works, though that was a pretty cool yet useless feature.

More crazy shit:

Wow, that’s a pretty novel design.

Yeah, I thought the twin turbine shock absorbers for the winding movement were pretty damn cool.

URWERKs are amazing, one of the coolest rose gold watches avail IMO

I fucking love UN Freaks also, but wayyy too much $$$

One day I’ll have a UN Sonata though

The Freak is effing sick, there are a couple of them for sale on timezone for $42-45K. They are very cool but a little hard to read for me. I do, however, have my eye on a certain Big Bang…
